It's that time of year where I delve into my digital crates and present to you my annual Hip Hop roundup for 2020. The mix features over 120 of the year's best tracks; lots of different flavours to keep you entertained, along with the usual club tunes and obvious picks, along with my personal favourites.

Sadly, it's also the final mix in the AD series. I've had fun putting these together over the past 10 years, however each one takes literally a month to finish. It's time to move on, but I hope you'll like this mix...

Fresh from dropping my UK Garage mixtape a few weeks back, I've decided to keep with the summer time vibes and release the next in the "Best Of" series. This time around, it's all about UK Funky.

Drake sampling Paleface & Kyla's "Do You Mind" was also one of the inspirations for digging into my crates and putting this together. This mix contains over 30 tracks, some of which you may or may not know, and even though it's not technically Funky, I've also included "One Dance" in there...because everyone seems to want to hear Drake, no matter what type of event it is.

Drake's new track Trophies has been making some noise 'pon di internet this past week; even more so since Migos jumped on it. I thought I'd have a go at remixing the track, making it more suitable for the Trap/EDM crowd. The end result is this...

Damn, it's been a minute since I updated this blog....

I guess with Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud and the mailouts, I haven't really needed to... If anything, this blog now serves as a main contact page, with all the relevant links.

But anyhow, I'll still be putting up music on here from time to time.

After hearing Pound Cake, and noticing the Wu-Tang reference, I thought I'd put this blend, using the Wu-Tang acapella.

Timbland should be the one exec-producing Aaliyah's posthumous album, not Drake. The only thing worth giving credit to is Noah "40" Shebib's production. If there's a Drake-less version floating around, please let me know.

Sorry kids, but it wouldn't be a proper Aaliyah record without Timbaland and Missy Elliott at the helm. Enough said.

Drake Feat. Rihanna "Take Care" (DJ Cable Edit)

Here's a little something for all you Urban/Open Format DJs (and Drake fans too).

As you know, the ladies love that "Take Care" joint, but in all honesty it's a bit too mellow; especially when it comes to dropping it in the middle of a set. As a result, I made this edit for when I play an Open Format set (Hey, I have to pay my bills somehow).



I've basically added some 808s and the Think break, sped up the tempo a little bit, and given the arrangement a quick shuffle. The tune ends on a loop of the Gil Scott-Heron sample.

The end result is a slightly beefed up version, with a DJ friendly intro.

A-Trak x Drake x Birdman "Loonies To Blow"

A-Trak comes through with a tasty remix of Drake & Birdman's track, which is taken from Trizzy's forthcoming "Dirty South Dance Vol. 2" compilation.

For those not in the know (I only just found this out myself), a loonie is another word for a Canadian $1 coin, as it bears the Canadian loon bird on the reverse side.
