... that it's been exactly one month since my last blog entry. And a few of you guys (and girls) have noticed the sudden 'disappearance' of my blog from the Internet. I assure you, I have a truly valid reason for this phase of mine. It's not that I've suddenly gone all lazy with blog-writing, or that I've decided to stop blogging altogether (there goes your wish, triShie buddy!). On the contrary, I've actually developed a greater affinity to blog-writing, and to accommodate this great hobby of mine, I've decided to update my blog to, er, a much better one lar. So my blog shall be temporarily under maintenance repairs, muahahahahaha!
To move on to other (arguably) more important topics, this past one month of holidays have been really swell. At the start of the holidays - May 31st, to be precise - I kinda worried that my holidays would be similar to all previous ones. Y'know, the usual "boredom beckons" phrases every other day or so, the same old same old routine of eat sleep TV laptop eat sleep TV laptop etc. But I've been pleasantly surprised to find my days being filled to almost full with stuff! There was the Worship Retreat in mid-May, and of course the fabulously fun-filled Surrendered camp in the early days of June. Been hanging out and catching up with my great church buddies quite often too. So far we've hit the tables and chairs of Coffee Bean, Bing! (now wasn't that a hilarious experience, guys?), SCR, McD's (in and out, so funny!), a roadside stall selling fantastic chicken rice, and long car rides to nowhere. Muahahahaha! Yes, life is good!
Last Tuesday, the 12th of June also marked another milestone in my so-far-so-good life. Yes people, it's official: Esther is now a legal holder of a real-deal driver's license! No more "P"-license! Muahahahaha! Watch out, world! Here I come! And how did I celebrate? By vomiting up my lunch because I was sick. Why was I sick? Blame it on my lack of sleep. Seriously. I've had so little sleep this past month compared to my usual sleep pattern. The lack of sleep is starting to affect my face muscles. The area in between my eyebrows have been having some sort of muscle twitches since yesterday. It's like a cross between over-wriggling your eyebrows and pins-and-needles. A really interesting sensation. I need sleep.
This past month has also made me realise that I can actually access the Internet from my own room. I know you guys are probably wondering what's so interesting about this, but the thing is the telecommunications people (who shall remain nameless) actually told us that there is no wireless network in our neighbourhood or something along those lines. So that logically means that the houses here can't have wireless access right? Then why is it I can log on with just my laptop? Mind you, no LAN cables poked into wall sockets now. It's just that funny button I press that goes all red and says "wireless network connection is now connected"... Strange phenomenon, I tell you.
Talking about strange phenomena, the same thing has happened to me not once, but twice! I'm talking about my seemingly 'great' connection with the radio. Ever had one of those moments where you're just itching to hear a certain song only to have it played on the national radio airwaves moments later? I've experienced it twice! The song in question is one of my top top top top favourites, Howie Day's Collide (which by the way, if you don't already know, is the song that's playing whenever you access my blog or my Friendster - the video's at the bottom of this page). The first time it happened was quite a few months ago, when I was driving on the way up to UNIMAS. There I was thinking how nice it'd be if I could hear the song, and what do you know, the next second (no kidding, the next second!) the guitar strums the opening chords and there was the song. I was really freaked out at that time. The second time it happened was just two days ago, Friday evening. And this time I had 3 witnesses! We were chatting about what kinda voices we like, and I mentioned the words "Howie Day... I like his voice. You know him?" and like, less than a minute later it was blaring out on the radio! Aaaaaaaaaaarrrgghh! What is this? What's going on? Of course, logically speaking it's just a really really great coincidence, but yes, it can get rather freaky. In a nice sort of way, of course.
There. I think I've written enough to more or less make up for my one month's lack of blog entries. If you're not already snoring on top of your computer keyboard, I'm surprised. And touched. Touched that you actually took the time (and the effort) to read through all this random words. Teehee! So that's it from me. Till the next time I blog!
Cheers!
