Eeek!! Such gorgeous new goodies in THE STORE and I have a tutorial for you today showing how I made this card!

Image

So to start I used the EYELET LACE RECTANGLE DIE SET and cut two of the tag shapes.

Image

I wanted to create a rose so I took the first layer for the rose from the LOVE IN BLOOM STAMP SET and positioned using my stamp platform.

Image

I stamped in the lightest of my chosen inks, Swimming Hole, from the COUNTRY FAIR - MINI HYBRID INK SET.
Image

I then took the second layer of the rose and positioned it over my first layer and stamped in my next darkest ink La La Lavender (also from the COUNTRY FAIR - MINI HYBRID INK SET).
Image

I then stamped the third and final layer in the same way but in Mrs Periwinkle from the SUMMER SHORE - MINI HYBRID INK SET.

(sorry forget to take a picture of that DOH!!)

On the second tag I stamped one the sentiments from the LOVE IN BLOOM set in Mrs Periwinkle and built a flower in the same way as before but this time with the rose bud stamp; the first layer in Swimming Hole and the second in La La Lavender.
Image

To both tags I added borders of leaves (in Key Lime Pie from the COUNTRY FAIR - MINI HYBRID INK SET ) and flowers (Mrs Periwinkle & La La Lavender) using some of the smaller stamps in the set masking off the pretty picot edges for a cleaner finish.

Image

I then took the sweet little butterfly and stamped twice with my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD
Image

I coloured them with water based markers and fussy cut, then cut the large die from the EYELET LACE RECTANGLE DIE SET from white card.

Image

To finish I inked all the edges, added ribbon, twine and a few drops of Glossy Accents.
Image
 Voila!!

Oh my, the new goodies and just gorgeous and I have a step-by-step tutorial of my card today.  Grab a cuppa as it’s photo heavy!

I began by cutting a piece of glitter card and a piece of paper from the stunning ARCTIC SNOWFALL 6x6 PAPER PACK to fit my card blank.

Image

I stamped out images from the ARCTIC SNOWFALL STAMP SET and also the TREE LINE & MOUNTAINS using my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD onto ULTIMATE GRAPHIC paper.
Image

I coloured with my Copics then fussy cut everything (I stamped two of the hats and cut off the striped band to be the 'neck' of my scarf ).
Image

I distressed and inked the edges of my matting layers, and then stuck them to my card. I added foam tape to the back of my mountains and trees and also added some ripped pearl card to give me a snowy ground. I graduated the depth of the foam tape to create the dimension I wanted.
Image

After 10 minutes of taking the backs off the foam tape (!) I layered everything up.

Image

I 'dressed' my lovely fox in his teeny hat, scarf and boots using a glue pen to minimise the mess (unusual for me as I revel in mess!!).
Image

I added my fox and owls and stamped one of the sentiments on another piece of ripped pearl card and added it to the bottom. I also stamped and coloured the heart three times and added it to what I felt was an 'empty space'.
Image

And voila! A touch of Tonic Nuvo Glitter Drops and it's done!

LDRS Creative – I Love You More Than Treats!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! I understand that it is Mother’s Day for some of you today so happy Mother’s Day to all you lovely mum’s out there.  In the UK we celebrated in March...we like to be different! LOL

I am posting on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today with a teeny tiny card made to show someone you love them…well more than treats anyway.
Image
So be prepared for an epic journey through some step by step photo’s as I show you how I did it.

Firstly I stamped the images I needed from the adorable stamp and die set PUPPY TIME (I’m totally in love with this set as I’m a bit dog mad) using the RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD .
Image

To make the card base I cut one of the larger dies from the JUBILEE MAGICAL SLIDER SET, and as the die embosses a crease line in the centre it was very easy to fold in half.
Image

I then took one of the stunning papers are from the TLC COTTON CANDY PAPER PACK , and after trimming it to a size that would leave me a narrow border I cut one of the frames from the JUBILEE MAGICAL SLIDER SET giving me with an ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ piece. I also cut the stamped sentiment from the smaller matching die.
Image

I coloured my images with Copics and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I then inked all my edges.
Image

I added foam squares to the back of the outer frame (I won’t bore you with how long it took me to get the backs off!!) and after adhering the inner frame flat to my card blank I stuck my raised frame over that.
Image

I arranged my images as I wanted them and stuck down with some more foam pads, and then finished off by adding a couple of gems and a scribbly doodle border.
Image

And that was it, all done; a teeny tiny card just to say I love you.  Now just to find an envelope to fit it……..!!!

Digi Choosday Challenge Week 26 – Anything Goes!

Good morning everybody!  How are we all?

It is Choosday which means it’s time for a new challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY and as always we have a wonderful prize on offer for our lucky winner so check out the BLOG for details.

Don’t forget it is also DISCOUNT DAY so you need to grab the code on THE BLOG to get a MASSIVE reduction in the POLKADOODLES SHOP! It’s a limited offer only!

BEWARE...PHOTO HEAVY POST!! 😊

The team are focusing on the sentiment this week but unfortunately I got a tad carried away with my clouds and stars and even added two images… so that’s me for the sack then!! LOL

Image

So moving on from my shortcomings as a DT member I have used Serif to copy and manipulate some of pre-coloured images from the gorgeous new LIL MISS SUGARPOPS COLLECTION to create a background. I then added wings borrowed from the digi section of WORK & PLAY 9 to two of the sweet little character stamps. Very angelic don't ya think…much like myself!! 😇
Image

Image

So I just wanted to show you how I created my ickle 'angels'...not wanting to teach you to suck eggs of course... and although I created my background in Serif I manipulated these sweeties in Word.

Add your image to your page and resize as required.
Image

Right click and WRAP TEXT then click THROUGH. The image can now be moved anywhere on the page. You can also do this step via the SIZE AND POSITION function seen below.

Image

Then Insert the wings digi, resize and wrap text as before.
Image

Resize the wings than move over the image...

Image

Then send to the back....repositioning and resizing as required.  Job done!
Image

Nikky Hall has a fab tutorial on YouTube showing you how to do this, explaining the method MUCH better than I have, so check it out HERE.

Ingredients:
B/W Images: CUTE & CUTIEPIE with added digi wings from WORK & PLAY 9
Colouring: Faber Castell Polychromos
Colouring Paper: ULTIMATE GRAPHIC
Backing Paper, Sentiments, Pre-coloured Rainbows & Clouds: LIL MISS SUGARPOPS COLLECTION
Dies: Memory Box ‘Puffy Clouds’ – Spellbinders ‘Grand Scalloped Squares’
Other: Tonic Nuvo Drops – Star Punch

So polish your halo and flap over to THE BLOG where you can join in with our challenge and its here that you can also see all the gorgeous inspiration from the DT.   And don’t forget to grab the DISCOUNT CODE and visit the STORE  because ….
