The ‘recharge room’ is a place where you can close the door, rest, and empty the mind before continuing the workday.

Douglas House, a six-floor office building on Great Titchfield Street in London, is a workplace designed to stimulate the minds of the people who use it. The connection between our environments, our emotions and our productivity has become increasingly clear in recent years. This awareness directed us to focus not just the physical aspects of work – but also on how the space affects our minds.

We developed multiple workplace scenarios and programmed them with bespoke functions to meet the complex needs of modern working life. We created a mix of different tempos in the space – using colour, form, and contrasting materials. The result was a strong tactile and visual experience, driven by the idea of “a gentle punch” when entering the space.
