There was a time when Manics were the biggest musical thing in my life. They very my first Very Own Band, my own musical obsession that got me heavily into music. I’m not anymore the sort of blind fanboy I was back then, but the band continues to have a gigantic place in my heart. They’re definitely the most important band of my musical life.
Here you can, or will as I get into things, see my opinions on each and every officially released Manic Street Preachers song and beyond. This is not an in-depth analysis of each song, it’s simply my rambles which tend to say pretty much nothing a lot of the time. It’s something I’ve done for fun. It’s been great to really dig into the back catalogue of one of my all time favourites like I used to. Think of it as a tribute of sorts, I suppose.
This project originally started as a list on Rate Your Music and it stayed like that for quite a bit until I decided that a blog format would not only be less awkward to post in and update, but also more easily reachable and supporting comments and such. This blog will be updated whenever need be, including additions to old articles. The primary objective is to go through the back catalogue’s studio works – if there’s ever need or desire, I’ll start working on officially released covers, early demos and such.
The nature of this list is entirely subjective, it’s not meant to be an objectional sweep through the back catalogue. Please keep this in mind if you wish to discuss about my opinions in the comments.
Also, please don’t ask me for mp3s of the songs. It’s really not at all nice or pleasant. This blog isn’t for filesharing.
