For 54 years, #TitleIX has protected students from discrimination—but Trump has consistently undermined Title IX's protections for survivors of sexual violence & LGBTQI+ students. Our members will never stop fighting to protect EVERY student from harassment & discrimination.

About half of America cannot afford health care. Yet, instead of bringing down costs, the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans are cutting Medicare & Medicaid, undermining public health programs, and making access to care harder, not easier.

Twenty-seven years ago, the Supreme Court decided in the Olmstead decision that disabled Americans belong in their communities. Yet, Trump's DOJ has abandoned decades of work to make community living possible. We cannot allow this progress to be undone.

History tells us what will happen if education is "returned to the states," as Trump intends. Without a federal role in education, we saw segregation in public schools, a refusal to educate students with disabilities, and a systemic lack of resources for low-income communities.

Trump says we don’t have money to pay for day care, but he is spending nearly half a billion dollars of your hard-earned money to pay for his golden ballroom.

Trump said no taxpayer money would be spent on the ballroom. A contractor’s invoices show otherwise.

Child labor should be a lesson taught in history class, not an ongoing crisis. To commemorate the World Day Against Child Labor, Ranking Member @BobbyScott spoke with experts to reaffirm Democrats' commitment to strengthening child labor laws with the Protecting Children Act.

At a time when Republicans are cutting funding from under-resourced public schools, Congress should be investing in public education—not funneling taxpayer dollars to the wealthy. Today, @BobbyScott spoke in support of @RepGwenMoore’s Keep Public Funds in Public Schools Act.

I’m proud of the investments we’ve made in education in the Bay Area, a sentiment I shared with San Francisco Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Su at today’s @EdWorkforceDems hearing. Programs supporting parent engagement, student mental health, and special education

It's unacceptable that Republicans on the Education and Workforce Committee are once again picking on vulnerable children and school districts that understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Today, House Republicans wasted a committee hearing attacking school district officials who stood up for their students and refused to cave to the Trump administration’s culture war attacks on transgender youth. The treatment these educators received from some of my colleagues

Today’s Ed and Workforce hearing tried to weaponize inclusive policies that simply give kids—disabled, marginalized, and queer kids—a fair shot. These policies work to reverse systemic discrimination and meet the needs of all students. Why are my colleagues so against that?

The Nation’s Report Card shows that students are facing serious academic challenges. The response should be more support for students, educators, and families. Instead, the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans are undermining public education.
