    American men are quite unique in this aspect. They prefer ‘girl next door’ (Sydney Sweeney) to ‘out of this world’ (complete works of Immanuel Kant). Only in America is this a thing.

    I was absolutely floored by this when I started teaching in 2019. I have no idea how you can hold these two beliefs in your head at the same time and not just explode from the cognitive dissonance.
