Another round of heavy showers & thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon into this evening could bring additional instances of flash flooding, especially in flood prone/urban areas. A Flood Watch is in effect for central and northern portions of our forecast area.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon into this evening could bring both flash flooding and severe weather. Additional flash flooding is possible Monday.

The intensity and length of the extreme heat will enhance impacts to both people and infrastructure. This is not the kind of heat event we see every year, and could be the hottest period of weather the area has experienced in over a decade. The heat will be especially dangerous to the young, the elderly, and other vulnerable populations.

Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds will be possible today and Sunday, mainly each late afternoon and evening

There is increasing confidence in the potential for flash flooding today, but especially Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.

Power loss in hot weather. Places I can go to keep cool: the library, shopping mall, grocery store, public pool, cooling shelter. Pro tips: Call 211 to get connected to shelters and otehr resources. At home, lowest level will be coolest. Unopened refrigerator will keep food cold for about four hours. Full freezer will keep the temp for about 48 hours.
