I help bringing @reactjs to Android ⚛️ | Android GDE 🤖 | OSS 🐧 | Host @thebakerydev 🥐 | Marathon Runner 🏃 | All my opinions are belong to me | he/him | 🇺🇦
- Hold tight as we just announced that the New Architecture will be enabled by default for React Native 0.76! ⚛️
- I'm extremely excited to announce that on Monday I will start my new job as Android Infrastructure Engineer @SpotifyEng 🎶 in Stockholm 🇸🇪✈️ I will be responsible of building tools and libraries to support the Android Devs... and you can't imagine how happy I am!!! 💪🥳🥰
- I’ve been working on rolling out the New Architecture of React Native for the last 3 years (it’s literally my first project!). I’m so proud that we’re shipping it today! This would have not been possible without the support of the whole OSS ecosystem! The New Architecture is here! React Native 0.76 enables the New Architecture by default: reactnative.dev/blog/2024/10/2…
- React Native 0.76 will ship with a single merged dynamic library called `libreactnative.so`: github.com/react-native-c… This comes with major space savings for users as well as performance wins
00:00- I love IntelliJ Live Template, but my favourite is this one: .debug ==> .also(::println) Makes debugging #Kotlin code so fast and smooth 💫 It’s really useful also when you have a chain of operators and you want to see what is going on. See it in action here:
00:00 - Time to say goodbye 👋 Today was my last day at Spotify. I will definitely miss a lot of great friends, colleagues and a company culture that is unique in this industry! 💚🎶 Now on to new challenges 💪
- and yes, we're kicking off the migration of React Native core from Java to Kotlin as a community effort! If you're looking into a simple way to start contributing to a OSS project, you can find all the instructions here: github.com/facebook/react…
- Happy to share that we now have a #Kotlin community here on Twitter 🎉 x.com/i/communities/… Feel free to DM me to get an invite (I believe members should have ~5 invites to give away also) 💪
- we've just shared a post on the new Interop Layer that will ship in React Native 0.72. this allows you to reuse old React Native libraries on projects that are using the New Architecture (Fabric) without having to migrate them all feedbacks are welcome
