Thank you, @Keir_Starmer, for your strong cooperation with Moldova during your time as Prime Minister.
The United Kingdom stood with us against hybrid attacks and helped strengthen our resilience. Moldovans will remember this. We are grateful. We wish you all the best.

President of the Republic of Moldova
- A strong summit in Brussels. We opened our first negotiating cluster last week, and today we took stock of where we are — on reforms, economic development, and security and defence cooperation. Moldova is doing its part, and we count on the 27 EU member states to do the same.
00:00 - It is good to be back in Brussels, among friends. Thank you @eucopresident António Costa and President @vonderleyen for the warm welcome, and for this summit that carries our partnership forward.
00:00 - A good day for our European family. @ZelenskyyUa — congratulations to Ukraine on opening the first negotiation cluster. An important step for both our countries. @JakovMilatovic — Montenegro keeps moving forward on its European path. Congratulations on your continued progress.
- Today Moldova opened EU accession negotiations on the first cluster, “Fundamentals” — the core values at the heart of the European Union. We’re ready to open all clusters and will keep working with the same determination.
- The Kremlin has shown again that nothing is sacred to it. Those who claim to defend Christian values bombed the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, one of Orthodoxy’s holiest sites. Real faith does not bomb cathedrals. Moldova stands with Ukraine. The pressure must grow until Russia is stopped.
- Good call with @eucopresident António Costa. I welcome the decision to open the first cluster of accession negotiations on Monday. Moldova is ready to open all of them — we’ve done the work, and we’ll keep delivering reforms. Looking forward to the EU–Moldova summit on 22 June.
- Heartfelt congratulations to @NikolPashinyan on your election victory, won despite massive foreign interference. Moldova and Armenia share a commitment to peace and stability in Europe, and I look forward to deepening our dialogue and working closely together in the years ahead.
- Great to have EU Enlargement Commissioner @MartaKosEU back in Chișinău. We discussed what’s next on our EU path and welcomed the Cypriot EU Presidency’s steps toward opening the Cluster on Fundamentals — for Moldova and Ukraine.
- I had a good conversation with @SwedishPM Ulf Kristersson on our growing bilateral partnership, regional security, and the next steps on Moldova’s path to EU membership. We stay committed to reforms and a merit-based process. Thank you, Sweden, for your support.
- Russia struck Ukraine again overnight. Lives lost, homes in ruins, families living in fear under missiles and drones. My gratitude to every partner supporting Ukraine. More support for Ukraine and stronger pressure on Russia — both are needed now.
- I strongly condemn Russian drones striking Romanians in their homes. This is grave. The Republic of Moldova stands in full solidarity with Romania and wishes a swift recovery to those injured in Galați. Russia is a danger to all and must be stopped.
- Last night’s large wave of Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv is a war crime. Killing civilians is a war crime. The response of the free world must be more support for Ukraine, more pressure on Russia. Moldova stands with Ukraine and its brave people.
