I finally got VR teleoperation working well enough to make a cup of tea. The biggest things I need to improve are to make the arm more kinematically similar to mine and make it more rigid.

I needed a stronger arm and didn't want to spend $10k, so I designed and built this one using @RobStride_com motors for about $1,200. Still a lot to improve about this setup but it's been a great learning experience so far.

If you're interested in low-cost humanoid robots, I'm organizing a meetup on Thurs Sept 26th @ 6:00 in SF, featuring live demos from @kscalelabs, @lethic1, @saba_khalilnaji, and more. Space is limited so message me if you want to join!

Playing around with a modified version of the LEAP hand by @kenny__shaw. Still need to train it to shoot hoops on its own though

Modern computing is like a public works project to ensure full employment of programmers: how do we do what was possible a decade ago in a way that's 10 times slower and more complicated?

I had a great time last seeing all the robots people have been building. Thanks to @saba_khalilnaji Yufeng @lethic1 @BartronPolygon and @a_dob for presenting, and to @OpenAI for hosting! We might do it again in 3 months so let me know if you want to attend or present

I've been playing around with robotics recently and it's really fun to see what's possible with the latest research. This demo uses the ACT model from @tonyzzhao's ALOHA modified with relative positioning and the grippers from @chichengcc's UMI

Go is not the most fun language to write, but it is to operate and maintain, especially if you mostly stick to the standard library

I've been blown away by all the support we've gotten for the latest version of Numeracy. Building software that's fast and simple to use is surprisingly hard, so many thanks to everyone who's helped us along the way. producthunt.com/posts/numeracy…

The Meta Quest is incredible hardware burdened with just terrible software. It's hard to overstate how bad it is. When you first put it on it tells you to get the "Meta Quest" app from the App Store. The only problem is there is no such app.

I just released a simple AI powered tool to automatically organize your email: github.com/sirwart/auto-l… This is inspired by @jorilallo and @zeeg complaining about cold sales emails and wanting a way to filter them from their inboxes.
