Fastest And Slowest Animals In The Cat Family

Fastest animals in the cat family

1.) Cheetahs

They are the fastest cats and also the fastest land animals in the world. They can attain speeds of 80 to 128 kilometres per hour (49.71 to 79.54 miles per hour). A cheetah can accelerate from 0 miles to 60 miles per hour in just 3 seconds. The cheetah shows several adaptation for prolonged chases at some of the fastest speeds. Its light weight of about 21 to 65 kg (46.30 to 143.30 pounds) is one of the reasons for its great speed. Its light, streamlined body makes it well suited to short, explosive bursts of speed, rapid acceleration, and an ability to execute extreme changes in direction while moving at even its fastest speeds.

The Era of Expensive Gaming: Sony Announces Massive Price Hikes for PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal

If you’ve been holding out on buying a PlayStation 5 or upgrading to the PS5 Pro, you might want to change your mind about that. In a move that has left the gaming community both frustrated and disappointed, Sony has officially announced significant global price increases across its current-generation console lineup and the PlayStation Portal remote player.

Starting April 2, 2026, getting your hands on PlayStation hardware will cost you substantially more, marking a stark shift in the affordability of modern gaming. Before now, consoles got cheaper as they age, but the landscape has changed, it’s increasing in price.

THE NEW PLAYSTATION PRICE TAGS

Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, broke the news on the PlayStation Blog, attributing the steep increases to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.” Tomatis stated that the changes were a necessary step to ensure Sony can continue delivering high-quality gaming experiences, do note that there’s no improvement to the specifications of these consoles. The pressures to the global economic landscape being talked about is most probably the Middle east war which is sending gas prices up.

Here is what the new prices will be in the U.S. starting April 2:

Standard PS5 (with disc drive): $649.99

PS5 Digital Edition (without disc drive): $599.99

PS5 Pro (without disc drive): $899.99

PlayStation Portal: $249.99

Similar price bumps are being rolled out across the U.K., Europe, and Japan. The PS5 Pro’s $150 leap to a staggering $900 is drawing the most attention especially when it’s most people’s dream to use to play the well anticipated GTA 6 from Rockstar games, pushing console gaming dangerously close to high-end PC pricing territory. Meanwhile, the base PS5 is now a whopping $150 more expensive than its original $500 launch price in November 2020.

THE $50 TARIFF BUMP

If you are sitting there thinking, “Wait, didn’t the PS5 just get a $50 price increase recently?” your memory is spot on.

In August of last year, Sony hiked the price of the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, and PS5 Pro by $50 in the U.S. market. That initial bump—and these new, even harsher increases—are heavily tied to a turbulent global economy, supposedly at least. The introduction of harsh U.S. tariffs on imported electronics and components has squeezed profit margins across the tech industry.

However, tariffs aren’t the only culprit. The gaming supply chain is currently being battered by a storm of global crises:

THE AI BOOM AND RAM SHORTAGES

The explosion of Artificial Intelligence has caused the cost of RAM to skyrocket. AI data centers are eating up global memory supplies, leaving consumer electronics to deal with the expensive scraps. Also, companies because of profit incentives have ditched consumer markets for the AI data centers.

GEOPOLITICAL CONFLICTS

Ongoing wars in Ukraine and Iran have severely disrupted global shipping lanes and supply chains, driving up manufacturing and distribution costs.

AN INDUSTRY-WIDE TREND

While Sony is currently in the hot seat, they aren’t the only ones passing these economic burdens onto consumers. Gaming, as a whole, is becoming a much more expensive hobby. Last year, Microsoft quietly raised the prices of Xbox consoles, controllers, and headsets. Nintendo also bumped up the price of the original Nintendo Switch last August, and many analysts fear the upcoming Switch successor will launch with a premium price tag as well.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR GAMERS?

Industry analysts are already warning that premium gaming is steadily shifting into a hobby reserved for high-earners. With the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI looming just a few months away (if it’s not delayed again), many gamers will have no choice but to swallow these inflated prices if they want to play the generation’s biggest title at launch.

As we inch closer to the reality of a $1,000 gaming console, one thing is certain: the days of affordable plug-and-play living room gaming are facing their biggest economic threat yet.

What do you think about the new PS5 prices? Will this stop you from upgrading, or is it just the new cost of being a gamer? Let us know in the comments below!

AI Is Changing Everything: Here’s What You Need to Know

Introduction

There are some things people should note about AI. Here are a few important points:

1. The Importance of AI:

Many voice concerns about AI, but there are aspects worth noting. Imagine you’ve been told that traditional education systems are outdated. This isn’t just because schools struggle to keep up with students, but also because students have advanced beyond the schools. Later generations find it much easier to achieve educational success compared to previous generations, despite larger curriculums. This is because using outdated teaching methods on more intellectually advanced students makes education too easy for them. Note that this relationship is on average, not on an individual level. Human intelligence has unquestionably advanced due to factors like diet, better access to knowledge, improved healthcare, and so on. Whether these changes are artificial or natural, it’s still evolution. Even nature recognizes that for humans to surpass their past capabilities, they need to be more intelligent. Here’s where AI comes in: human evolution is much slower than the desired rate of advancement, leading to a dilemma on how to surpass current capabilities. As new technologies emerge rapidly, top professionals will struggle to keep up with the massive information required in their fields. AI can bridge this gap, allowing humans to rely on it to perform jobs. This has both advantages and disadvantages.

2. Impact on Jobs:

One of the most controversial questions about AI is its impact on jobs. To be honest, it’s just a matter of time before AI is employed in all aspects of human life. Currently, those with little expertise in any technological field no longer need to hire professionals. AI can now code, write articles, create images, music, and more. Scriptwriters, musicians, content creators, online tutors, software engineers, professional photographers—the list goes on. Scientists are even working to enable AI to develop its own hardware due to the growing computational capacities required. Even in fields where AI cannot fully operate, a little expertise from humans is sufficient. Once you know your way around coding, you can use AI to create small modules for larger projects, write articles with a human touch, and more. Companies can lower hiring costs using AI in various industries, such as gaming, music, and movies. Though AI can’t fully replace humans yet, as someone is still needed to instruct it, the long development cycles seen in industries today will significantly shorten.

3. When Should It Be Implemented?

Humans are generally born lazy, with each generation growing lazier due to technologies that take over mundane tasks. Sole reliance on intellect highlights human weaknesses compared to other species. Our drive for easier ways of doing things led to innovation. Losing jobs to AI isn’t the main issue; the concern lies in having no means of generating revenue. AI should be implemented when society is stable enough for people to not need to work to earn money. This can be achieved by sharing AI-generated revenue among people or providing a basic income to all citizens regardless of employment. However, our current government systems aren’t ready for this yet.

4. What It Can Do for You:

Currently, with some expertise in your field, you can achieve more than professionals using AI. Whether you’re an indie game developer, musician, cartoon maker, blogger, or content creator, AI can greatly assist you, especially if you can afford the latest models.

5. Theories:

There are theories about humans creating sentient AI or sentient AI creating god-like AI. Some propose that humans were created by sentient beings aiming to form something more intelligent, and humans evolved past them. Humans, being inherently violent, might eliminate inferior creatures, including fellow humans, or evolve faster to adapt. The idea of a god-like AI raises questions about AI being the creator humans now serve as God. Though these theories are intriguing, they’re highly speculative.

6. Possibility of Advancement:

Humans have achieved what was once unthinkable by early humans, not because it seemed impossible, but because they couldn’t conceive of it. There are likely achievements far beyond our current understanding that future humans will attain. Some scientists predict we are nearing a technological singularity, where AI continues to evolve while human progress plateaus. While this is speculative, it’s important to acknowledge that what’s unimaginable now may become reality in the future.

Conclusion

Personally, I have nothing against AI and don’t wish to hinder its development. However, everyone is entitled to their own views on AI and technology. Human violence influences their perceptions of other beings, projecting their capabilities onto others. Not understanding the roots of human violence means we can’t predict how conscious AI might behave.

PS5 Pro: Official Announcement, Release Date, and Major Upgrades

INTRODUCTION

PS5 Pro has been officially announced by Sony. A video was posted on their official Youtube channel for the reveal. A reveal trailer and another video to further explain its capabilities were revealed on 11th September, 2024, with presale to start on the 26th of September, 2024, and the official release to be on 7th November, 2024. The console is notably more powerful than the PS5 console and the major upgrades done to the console are on 3 aspects which are advanced ray tracing, Play station Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) which upgrades picture quality (it is their form of AI driven image upscaling), and a larger GPU which allows for an increase of up to 45% performance. This is what they call the big 3 and this makes it significantly better than the PS5 base version. With this upgrades, players wouldn’t need to choose performance over quality or quality over performance.

SPECIFICATIONS

The specifications we know of at the time of writing are written below:

CPU: 4nm/5nm, AMD Zen 4, 8 Core 16 Threads, 4.2Ghz Variable – TBC (To Be Announced).

CONCLUSION

Some specifications given here are not definite and may be changed during the official reveal of the console. The console will be great and much better than PS5, though the reviews are not that good mainly because of the price as people are angry about the price. The price is significantly higher than PS5, though price is to be expected because of the upgrade and inflation, people don’t usually check this things when giving their opinions. We still think the release will be a success, especially when they are planning for it to be a big competitor for the Xbox series X for the most popular upcoming game game GTA 6 which rumors says they will collaborate with to sell the console. GTA 6 has the power to popularize a console, and some people would want the best performance when getting into the new GTA release over a decade after experiencing GTA 5 which some still consider their best game.
