William Hewes is an American artist born in a small New England town in 1957.
Hewes creates large-scale abstract expressionist paintings in the Action/Drip style, even building his own spinning table to produce dramatic spin paintings. After experimenting with different styles, he settled on abstract works because of the freedom within the genre.
