Hello, Elizabeth...

Image

Yes. We happily went to Elizabeth Quay. Again. Together.
I hated this!
It felt like Perth tries to copy Sydney and Perth does not need this!!!

I do not "hate" Sydney - nice people there! I went by myself, even took public transport, by myself (believe me, it is overwhelming!). Ingo was trying to sell our car in King´s Cross in 1995 and I took a day off.
There was or is a traveler car market there.

Had no clue how to get to Circular Quay and just asked people, got tips where to go and put my paper-map away, cause... just ask the friendly people!!

But... but... I feel more like a "Perthie" and did not see why Perth seemed to want to be as "fancy" as Sydney!
The Bell Tower seemed to disappear!

Once one of THE icons of Perth, standing by itself...

... is now surrounded by high buildings and others steal the show...
Hopefully back soon blogger Grace and I were not a fan of the development!
Aww, well... the things you cannot change you have to embrace, right?

Here you see...

To the end of our holiday lotterywest  had another fireworks - as this time I had no spider-bite I could attend!

See here:

That was fun!

Though, to be honest... the LED-light show I liked much better. Environment-friendly and not scary to animals...

I think the quay is really beautiful and well designed! I hope you like it a little more -- we all "learn and grow" from each other -- it might even be prettier than Sydney's!

I love seeing Perth as I have never been there, That installation is really fun! And there's some cool buildings too. Thanks for taking us out viewing. Happy April 2. hugs-Erika

I like seeing the installations in the city, Iris. It reminds me of when Grace used to post pics from there.

I like the modern architecture. Beautiful sculptures, buildings and a pretty swan. Take care, have a great day!

I find the first photo interesting.

Lovely photos but I found the fireworks disappointing. Bright white flares with too much smoke. I remember decades back when fireworks shot into the air and then exploded in wonderful colours and starburst patterns.

Liebe Iris,
Alles Liebe, Traude

Yes. I´m OK with it now. And I have 1995-Perth in my heart.

You´re very welcome, Kathy, hugs

Tell her, RedPat!! Maybe she comes back as blogger!

And they are for free, CJ!

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, they are beautiful, Eileen. But... it was hard to see the cozy place disappear...

Iris Flavia said...

Stylish, huh.

Iris Flavia said...

Very true to the fireworks. And the LED show last time was much, much better!

Iris Flavia said...

Once you get used to it, yes...
