Today Is Friday, April 10, 2026: This Is What Happened

Image

One morning I got some photos of sunrise. So I'm linking up with SKY WATCH, and doing a blog post.

Image

Let get this off my chest. My son Sawyer is making some pretty off the wall choices. That simple isn't good. I've always have a good relationship with both of my daughter in law. Even if my oldest and his wife is divorced. She would like to get back with him. Not going into a lot of detail. He went over to the Philippines and meant a woman. Who working in a bar. And now he is sending her money. Tells him story that she didn't the money. I bet most of you can see where this is going.

Image

Went and had my mammogram. Glad that over. And it only once a year. In and out thing. Afterwards I went to drop off some things at the thrift store. From under the stairs. Today is one of my slow days. If plans work out. I will go back under the stair and go though it more.

Image

They had prime rib at our senior center, cube potatoes with peppers and onion in them. Not many enough for little different texture and flavor, nice small green salad. I add blue cheese dressing to mine. I took my peach cobbler home. Prime ribs is something we can't do, out of our price budget. Plus they had there food give away. Got some strawberries.

Today Is Monday, April 6, 2026: This Is What Happened.

Until I get in today posting. I been doing some practice and playing with different parts of my camera. Chat Gpt more or less gives me assignment on taking photos. Or I like the word “challenge” So I ended up taking four photos of our sugar maple tree. 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet. (1.5, 3, 4.5, and 6) I know the meters aren't spot on.

Image

Found this site called, DEAD FRED. It site that helps people figure out old photo, they have around. I'm one who does. I also did a small search of some of my relatives and husband different surname. Only one came up. But none of the first names I recognized.

Image

Yesterday we went to Murphy sister, Faith. Down in Post Falls. A small gathering of 10 people. Bart stop in, and he was up in Canada.

Image

Had my physical recently. Still need to make appointment for my eyes, and wait for neurologist to call. This up coming Friday. I will have my mammogram. Most of my blood results was in the normal range. Except for creatinine, LDL chol calc , and hemoglobin A1C %. Very few things I know what they mean. But it good we have google and A.I to learn about it.

Today Is Sunday, March 22, 2026: This Is What Happened

Thought I would have some fun, here in blogger world. I thought I would post some random photos, from my trip. And see what night cafe can come up with. And hook them up with SUNDAY IN THE ART ROOM. Traveling and what to pack for art material can be daunting task. So I bought a few things down in Medford Oregon. And left some of it down there. Sure my Granddaughter will find good use.

Image

Image

I end up being at the Sea Tac air port, for little over 5 hours. It handle 25 million flights and 52 million people. That was in 2025. I rather go though Portland Oregon air port. It was little harder to find info on the airport in Portland air port. It handles about 450 flights a day. And 18 million people passes though.

Eating at the airport is never cheap.

Sawyer went to work on Friday. So I took Uber, and first time using Uber.

Image

When leaving the Medford area, gas was right around $5 a gallon. What I been told gas in Bonners Ferry is $4.20 a gallon. My son has an electric car.

Image

Things looked okay around the home front. Hubby did a good job of keeping it up. Yesterday I made up one my photo books. So I have one made up one of my son. But since I can't open my second subscription. I'm using chat books.

Today, around the place. Raked up some leaves and toss them over bank into the riven. And did my morning exercise. Unpacked, and did load of wash. I wash my clothes before I left Oregon.

Image

Image

I sure didn't miss the Maga politics. Although the county I was in Oregon. Trump won by 51.9% and Harris won by 45.5% and other candidate got 2.6%. It not to the extreme to one side. Like it in my area.

Trump got 81.5%, Harris got 16.1%, and other 1.3%.

I just found out there is petition going around my area, about restoring women health and reproduction rights. The Idaho electives taken away of lot of woman issues. And mainly the Gynecologist left the state. I'm willing to sign it.

I missed my hubby, friends, mountains, small town feel, and art. I'm sure they're more.

So I'm getting my hair cut in morning. Going to the Library to pick up a book, called The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. And go over on the North side. Stop at clinic and get a copy of what we spent over there. And the hospital as well. Get going on our tax things.

Once I get home I like to rake some leaves, clear off the table, and do walk.

Today, Is Wednesday January 14, 2026: This Is What Happened

Image

I decided to take part in WORDLESS WEDNESDAY. Making morning coffee isn't the first thing I do. Actual the first things I do is go potty, and wash. I don't want think where my hands been during the night.

I start reading the first journal of Queen Victoria. In her first journal she a teenager, and at that time she had the title of Princess. What two things I find interesting in her journal. Is how she writes related to time. Like...Got up at ¼ to 9 and breakfast by myself and ¼ p 10 played on the piano. Before I sat down to typed out today post. I was organizing my college supplies. But I'm clueless the time I start or ended. I'm sure I will will work on it again this afternoon. Then the other thing how she explain things. More details in her journals. Like color, scene, size, and plain simple more detail. The camera didn't come popular until the late 1800's. What I heard Queen Victoria and Prince Albert was into photography and even had a dark room in the resident. They was no camera around tell about 1840's and she had pass the age of 18. It figured the first picture of her was in year of 1847, and she at the age of 28. So no wonder things was explain in more details. At this time in her journal. She don't talk of emotions, or her opinions. What I heard she mother read her entries, and after her death her daughter, Princess Beatrice edited her journal after her death.

Don't know why I'm just sore all over. Got Pizza in the oven. Murphy vacuumed today. Dried some clothes and folded them. Over cast as for weather.

Today Is Wednesday, December 31, 2025: This is What Happened

I decided to start this post in the morning. Plus some place in the world it already 2026. As for the political arena I hope it's better always around. We here in the United States has our mid-term. Maybe Maga will loose the majority. As many of us know. If Trump don't get his way. He will toss a tizzy.

Image

The last thing I did was putting on was my shoes. I thought it would and interesting shot, for WORDLESS WEDNESDAY. After the shoes, got on my feet. I went down and ride the stationary bike. On so called odd days, like today. It seems like reasonable goal. Is to ride that 3 times a day. But for some reason I only do it once day.

Yesterday it was my brother in law, Earl Birthday. He just turn 65. And he has congestive heart failure. I don't want to be to hard on him. But he lived a hard life. Smoking and drinking. Now it caught up with him. I'm far from a saint, and not big time sinner. Simple we're all human.

I been doing some research on paper to use with alcohol makers. I have good amount of them. Even I use heavier paper to do my art on. But I have issue of soaking though when I use alcohol markers. Found out there paper just made for alcohol markers.

I was wondering if art with Greta. If we were going to new years goals and such in our art journal. Plus a word of the year. She said yes. But she doesn't give out details on what we're doing. For me that's fine. I do better. With less thinking on it.

One of my art journal is getting close to be filled. This is what I will be getting, ART JOURNAL Usually I split them with my friend Lolita. But she wants a heavier paper. The company I get my art journal though, does offer a heavier PAPER. I'm just not a fan of spiral note books.

Let just wrap up with my morning temps. I'm lazy and I'm going to have chat-gpt give me the numbers.

December Morning Temperatures (7–8 a.m.)

  • Highest: 43.2°F (6.2°C)

  • Lowest: 16.3°F (-8.7°C)

  • Average: 32.3°F (0.2°C)

Today Is Wednesday, November 12, 2025: This Is What Happened.

Today Is Wednesday, November 12, 2025: This Is What Happened.

So far this month has gone fairly smooth. We decided to have our gas furnace looked over, and looks like there some possible major issues. Our furnace is like 20 years old. But what got to me. The service guy was really hard pressure to sell us new unit. So we got a hold of few other places that deals in heating systems. A new unit starts around $4,000, and that not counting labor either. If we didn't have the duct work in. We would have to add anther $2,000. For us we need to skip central air, that would add to price tag. Anther $4,000. Glad we have the option to pull out savings.

Like I said I got hold four other furnace places. Maybe there is chance I get repaired for under $1,000. I doubt if any of like to be pressure in something we don't need. This company who tried to pressure us in new gas furnace. Also came and looked at my sister in law Faith. Her home is less five years old, and they tired to push her into getting a new furnace.

Image

Since it Wednesday, I thought I would to part in WORDLESS WEDNESDAY. As you can see we have gold and yellow carpet of leaves in our front yard.

We went to town and did some small errands. We stop at the senior center, Faith is coming up on Friday. Joining us for lunch. So I went and sign up for Friday lunch. At our senior center they like for people to call before 10:30 in morning. To see how many will be eating. For some reason people can't wrap their brain around this. A few times they ran short on certain dish. It disrespectful to those who are doing the meals.

In the pass this is how they served food. Each of the tables have numbers on them. And randomly they would call numbers, and that table would go up and get their plate of food. Now they go down the sign up sheet. I talked to some of the board members. They hope calling from sign up list will be a short term thing. And go back to calling the tables.

I think tomorrow I will have a chance to blog about these subject. To much screen time, intuitive art journaling, and writing/journal prompts.

I had every intention to post yesterday. I tried to load up a few photos, and guess what. It was a "No Go" I got out an UBS card reader and my photos load just fine. Yesterday I had plan to take part in WORDLESS WEDNESDAY. I been sewing an wallet. Hubby Wallet is holding on by 23 threads. A lease it not one.

Today I went to the store for a bake sale. Guess what it next Thursday. I told the checker my dementia, been acting up. Both the checker and I had a laugh.

I been enjoying watching the fall colors, and the tree been letting go of there leaves. When the leaves on the ground, I still like to kick the leaves about. Maybe it the crunch of them.

Image

I drove in a little early today. I usually play scrabble. But the two other players didn't show up. My first errand was to get a poster board laminated. Which was little over $7.00. I'm making my own writing/journal prompt cards. Plus some artist ones as well. So far I have 46 of them. Here is one of them...”A Psychology student interview inmates for a thesis but becomes fascinated by one inmate whose presence shifts the energy of the jail. What begins as studies becomes obsession. Statement...If you would like you could leave a writing prompt in comments”

Image

Image

After lunch at the senior center, we had meat loaf with all the trimmings. I'm taking the sewing class at the center. We're making wallets. Hubby wallet seen better days.

Image

I don't think it been up for two weeks. I live in Maga area. “Idaho Freedom Foundation” had a post on Facebook. Look like most of the comments been pro Sign. Right after we got shot. They held an event for them. I left comment it read as...This is fine if you're a MAGA living in North Idaho to Stand up, Speak our, and Stay bold. But if your on the other side of tracks it's another story.

I been watching THE NEXT GREATEST ARTIST it only last 2 season. Couple of the pieces I seen I wonder if they got the artist out of mental asylum. These judges on the show can make some of the artist cry. Nothing wrong with critic. But no reason to be that cruel or hard that ones ends up crying.

Today Is Wednesday. September 3, 2025: This Is What Happened.

As my husband was having his last catract removed. I went for short walk, and took a photo in Sandpoint. I decided to take part in WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Paid on our medical bills, which 2 of them our from our hospital. One for Murphy and the other is mine. Plus Murphy had one from the hospital in Coeur d' alene. I got them three fourth paid off. There a small one from the hospital in Sandpoint on an X-ray. That one will be paid off in full. Plus paid my house insurance or anthor year.

As hubby was in surgrey I was reading my book, The Diary Keeper. It a book of people who kept diaries in Netherland during WW II. The people of Netherland was encourage to keep a diaries. Not sure if other people from other countries did or not. Two things I found interesting in this book that it comes from not nessuary the Jewish population. Sure there was Jews who kept a diaries. These diaries had to be kept in hiding from the Nazi and it so called partnership of other organization lean that way. At this point no diaries was found. The other thing I read and learn, non jews wore the yellow star in protest of how the Jews was being treated. I now wonder how many protesting non-jews was hauled off to a work camp or to an concentration camp.

It been plenty hot here, and I just learn about URBAN SKETCHER. So far I don't see any in my area. But I notice there is some in Spokane Washington.

Today Is Thursday, August 21, 2025: This Is What Happened

Image

One thing I'm doing for this post is sharing some photos. I plug in my camera and took off some pictures.

Image

Murphy had his surgery yesterday, and all went fine. Had a check up today, and that was also good.

Image

With running Murphy around things got a little out of hand. It has been more crazy here. Got things caught up. The neighbor was having a sale. So I got recliner for $60. Looks brand new and it clean. I also got some queen sheets for $10.00

Image

I been playing around with a little family history. The surname of McCalmant, for some reason the name Robert comes up. Mostly Robert went by Rob or Bob. I don't think they use that name much these days. Their a Robert the 3rd would be my 3rd great grandfather he came over from Ireland, a place called Delaware. He served in our American Revolutionary war. And got paid by a land warrant. The United States government gave him land.

Looks like before they came to the United States they lived Northern Ireland and Argyllshire Scottland.

Image

Off to the senior center and here is photo of Robert McCalmant the 4th. And his wife Catherine Pealer. They look like they lived such hard life. He lived to 84 years old.

Today Is Monday, August 4, 2025: This Is What Happened

Image

Yesterday, the 3rd of August. Murphy and I went for a drive up on Burton. It a mountain on the Selkirk range. West of us. The road was sure rough. A little sore from all the bumps. I had plan to take my sketch book. Like the majority of the time. I forget something. This time it was a pencil. I looked though the pick up to find one. No luck. So I thought I would share some photos on the adventure of Burton. I have wonder about things left over in a bond or campfire. Why would someone in middle of mountain put in a muffler to burn.

We're waiting for package to be drop off. Sawyer pick up broke down here last time he was up from Oregon. Well it's the transfer case. He planning to come back up in middle of this month. I will be glad to see him, as always.

Image

Let see what are three things I did this morning. Took a shower, exercised, and took a shower. Now for three things I might do. Well in all odds I will do them. Take out kitchen garbage, read, and do some prep work before I mow the lawn tomorrow.

As for non chores. Like family history, creativity, and etc. I don't have routine and I don't do them on daily thing. I now don't blog daily. Yesterday I was on Chat Gpt, and wrote something and ask which Dark Shadow characters does this writing matches up with. Well I had two. But the one I like to share is QUENTIN COLLINS and Angelique Bouchard.

Image

Writing Prompt: The Ghost in the Mirror – A Conversation with Quentin Collins

Prompt:
Your character walks through a strange house and finds someone waiting in a forgotten room — not quite alive, not quite dead. He introduces himself as
Quentin Collins. He says he knows what it’s like to be haunted by your own past more than any curse.
Write the scene that follows.
What does your character confess?
What advice does Quentin offer them that no one else ever has?

Blurb for Your Blog (To Introduce or Link the Prompt)

Lately, I’ve been journaling through characters and archetypes — blending tarot, memory, and literary figures to better understand myself. One entry led me to imagine a quiet, powerful meeting between Dora (a version of myself) and Quentin Collins from Dark Shadows.
This prompt came out of that moment — a space for anyone else who feels like they’ve been “paying” for mistakes long past. Maybe you’ll meet Quentin too.
Image

I really didn't know how to face the person in the mirror, and we all have our Quentin that just won't let us go. Maybe there some reason Quentin hangs around. Everyone that count for anything had forgave us. Those who refuse has pass and lives in spirit world. Those who walks among us who refuse to let go. Might have there reason. In my world I want to know why they can't let go or refuse to. Is it a form of control? Control the free will. So my question is why we are poses by our past. And who is blame for it. Let look at the birth of Jesus for a minute. Could they made up the story of him being born to an Virgin. Let look at this bible verse for second. Deuteronomy 23:2 (KJV)
"A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.", Wisdom of Solomon 3:16 (NRSVCE)
But children of adulterers will not come to maturity, and the offspring of an unlawful union will perish.”
And Wisdom of Solomon 4:3–6 (NRSVCE)
But the prolific brood of the ungodly will be of no use, and none of their illegitimate seedlings will strike a deep root or take firm hold.
If the story of being born to a virgin what would've actually happen if people knew the truth. It strong possible one of my great grandfather was born a bastard. For 4 generation we been told a cover up story. He took his old maid aunt name.
Image

If we don't understand past history we will repeat it. And refuse to look at it from all views. We're doom to repeat and it will like an leg iron with heavy weight we drag. But I honestly think we do have the key to our own free will. But where do we store our belongings. That we can meet them on our own terms. I have a storage area to place my possessions, a make believe safety deposit box. Even my possessions is place in my art journal. Not all possession one can hold in there hand.  I should open these on my term. But I don't.

Coffee is on.

Today Is Sunday, May 25, 2025: This Is What Happened.

Just finished the book, A MATTER OF CLASS, by MARY BALOGH. Last two books was under the genre of RENGENCY ROMANCE. But there also other genre that is connect to REGENCY. The last two of the books I enjoyed. And would consider looking into other books by Georgette Heyer and Mary Balogh. I don't see myself putting to much effect in finding these author books. I will get them out of my local library. I know our library has quite a few Georgette Heyer books. Not sure what the stats is on Mary Balogh.

I just start to read FRIDA KAHLO THE BRUSH OF ANGUISH. Our library has given me a few Frida Kahlo book. I can only guess why. She has be come quite the icon. Some time I would like to read a book on her husband Diego Rivera. That catches his inter being his make up. What made him tick.

Both hubby and I plan to go up into the mountains. We both slept in this morning. And got a slow start to the day. We got slow start. But the good thing is we got a few smaller project caught up or decent stab at some others things. Quiet pleased, and no reason why we can't take drive up in the mountains.

Last Friday evening I went to a new moon ritual down by the river. There was only three of us. We as pagan need to be careful and use common sense. Just like the LGBTQ+. In lot of ways the far right here is more scared. They think the gay community can groom or convert. The the pagan don't go out and proselytism. I find it just plain ass rude to go around and shove one's belief downs one mouth.

Today Is WORLD TAROT DAY.

Image

Saturday morning I went to art insight, and we all did ugly birds.

As far as ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE it here. Now what we do with it is up to each of us. Like anything else we need and should set bounds on it. Like anything else in our life. It has an off and on switch of some type Just like my camera, lap top, phone, vacuum, dishwasher, television, coffee pot and or etc.

Today Is Wednesday. May 21, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I decided to play WORDLESS WEDNESDAY
I like sardines. When I was young, every so often we’d have sardines and cheese—sandwiched between two saltine crackers. The other day, I got some in olive oil and really liked them.

Let’s see what I’ve been doing. I’ve been out mowing the lawn, but the mower ran out of gas, so I’m waiting until I can finish.
I’ve also done other household chores around the place.

On Monday, I went to the library and looked into getting Windows 11 installed. My current system won’t take it. I don’t quite understand why—and honestly, I don’t have much desire to figure it out. So I’ve started looking around for another laptop.
Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025, which means updates and services will stop. This laptop is running fine for now, so I’m thinking of seriously shopping for a new one sometime between July and September.
One of the main reasons I went to the library was to see why my laptop isn’t reading a thumb drive I have.

In the world of creativity, I went to my first live drawing session last Sunday. I didn’t quite finish the page I was working on. I also worked on some collage papers. I learned that photo paper doesn’t work well on Gel Plates—it sticks too much, tears, and leaves indentations. I didn’t know that at first, but later found out you're not supposed to use photo paper on Gel Plates. Still, it gave the plate a bit of its own personality, in a way.

Today Is Thursday, April 17, 2025: This Is What Happened.

Best laid plan always doesn't come to life, or even take a breath. Had plan to post an blog two days in row and two days off. Let see if I get something posted.

Yesterday Murphy and I drove to Courd'Alene to an nose ear, and throat doctor. Well they stuck an rubber hose up his nose. Don't worry it wasn't a lawn hose. And looked around, and found a small sis. Which they hasn't to worry about it. But they would like him to get x-ray. The type of x-ray he can do in Sandpoint. Our local hospital doesn't have the x-ray machine to do such a picture.

We stop over visited Murphy sister faith.

As we were gone, quite a wind storm came through and knock down some large tree in the draw. So today the neighbor kids and us load up bunch of tree branches.

I recently found sky art. I been watch it though you tube. It art show competition. At this time I'm not sure if I can watch off one these CHANNEL. List in Wikipedia. But I did just discovered this over in on google, GOOGLE.

Today Is Sunday, April 6, 2025: This Is What Happened.

It been a while since I posted a photo. Still having issue with my thumb drives. This week I'm planning to stop by our local library to my an appointment to see why my thumb drives isn't doing there things. I made some MOLASSES COOKIES. Let just say it been a while since I baked cookies.

The two main goals this week. Is take Murphy to the eye surgeon. His appointment is at ten in morning, down in Sandpoint. A little over half hour drive. Around 30 miles. We should know when he will be having his cataract removed. The other thing is get things ready to take in the paper work for property tax reduction.

Sure there other things I have on my to do list. But those are the main ones that needs to be taken care of.

Paid the electric, water bill, and WiFi. The WiFi is paid quarterly.

Slowly getting photos of my laptop, onto a thumb drive.

Took a short walk today.

Stop at the thrift store. Spend seventeen cents. And let them keep the change. This thrift store helps animals.

Went to art insight journaling. At LORE

Start to set up the month of April in my bullet journal.

This morning, I meant Qunella at Under the Sun. Their plain black coffee is under $2.00 a cup, and you can get all the refills you want or need. They also carry a great lunch menu. I'm hooking up with

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Image

I arrive at Under The Sun before Qunella. I went up to the loft and had my coffee. Practice drawing one of their couch. After coffee, I walked over to the post office. To buy an international stamp. They were out of them. The postal clerk wasn't sure when they would be getting some. (The libra is inflamed and the pyramids – 1921 – Style Dada – Genre abstract – Location Unknown)

Stop at the store. Eggs are still expensive. Once Trump was in office, eggs and gas would be super cheap. Dozen eggs are just under $6. And gas, in the last week or so, has gone up .20¢. Regular gas is running $2.75 to $3.00 a gallon. (Five O'Clock Tea – 1917 – Style Futurism – Genre Abstract – Location Unknown)

Today's art movement is FUTURISM. I will be only sharing two works by JULIUS EVOLA.
