How we handle your information.
This notice explains what personal information Restricted Code collects through this website, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to restrictedcode.com only.
Who we are
Restricted Code is the data controller for the information collected on this site. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect, and why
Mailing list. If you sign up, we collect your email address so we can send you news and updates. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Contact form. If you write to us, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are popular and how visitors move through and interact with a page (such as scrolling and clicks). This sets cookies and collects technical data such as a device identifier, approximate location and the pages you view. You control this through the cookie banner; see our Cookie policy.
We never sell your information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers who either process data on our behalf or provide services through the site:
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — mailing-list management and email delivery.
- Google (Analytics 4) — website analytics.
- Microsoft (Clarity) — analytics and usage insights, such as heatmaps and aggregated session behaviour.
- Krystal — web hosting.
- TicketSource and See Tickets — ticket sales. When you buy tickets you do so on their platforms, under their own privacy policies; we don’t collect or store your payment details.
- Last Night From Glasgow — record sales. When you buy the album or other records you do so on the label’s shop, under their own privacy policy; we don’t collect or store your payment details.
- Embedded content from Spotify, YouTube and Bandcamp may set cookies or collect data under their own policies when you choose to load or play it.
This site also links to external streaming services and social media, which have their own privacy policies we don’t control.
Sending data outside the UK
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your mailing-list details until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards (no longer than 24 months), then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to our settings in Google Analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to access the information we hold about you; to have it corrected or deleted; to restrict or object to its use; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You can also unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Security
We take reasonable measures to keep your information safe, and the providers we use maintain their own security standards.
