And in just a few days the ITS Garibaldi will set sail for Indonesia where it will become the latest addition to the country’s pennant list.Vietnam represents part of the trend of Southeast Asian navies modernizing their major surface combatant forces with larger and better equipped multi-role as opposed to general-purpose vessels. This notwithstanding the rise of sea denial capabilities such as USVs.

During the same period Japan built and commissioned 9 frigates- and roughly 30 combatants, including subs, overall. Just let that sink in.Glacial... Note: In the same 9+ years timescale that HMS Glasgow has been under construction but still not even gone to sea, nine T23s were delivered.
