We are announcing the dav2d project: a small, fast and portable decoder for the new AV2 codec, the successor to AV1 and the latest royalty-free open video codec from the @a4omedia code.videolan.org/videolan/dav2d dav2d is the continuation of the work we started with dav1d, our AV1

And we are now 2 years later, and guess what? The @Microsoft issue is still not solved… Seeing the mess around Veracrypt, @WireGuardVPN and others lately, we feel their pain…

If you do wonder why we don't update VLC on the Windows Store or why VLC/iOS can't connect properly to OneDrive shares, it's because Microsoft Kafkaïesque bureaucracy refuses to help us. We're only trying to contact someone since 2years... Any day now...
