Can I change green message bubbles in Messages to a more accessible shade?
I am a new iPhone user and have encountered the "blue versus green bubbles" problem in the Messages app. Messages show in blue bubbles (background colors) if they were sent using the iMessages protocol (which includes encryption), and in green bubbles if they were sent using plain SMS (always true for non-iPhone recipients) (source). Ok, telling me if my messages were encrypted is helpful, I guess, but here's the problem: that light green background is an accessibility train wreck with the white text that comes with dark mode. Can I change that green to some other shade?
I've searched the Internet and explored all the settings I can find. As I said, I'm new to iPhones, so I might have missed something. Note that I am not asking about how to change the background color of chats, which sounds like some wallpaper thing that also pops up in my search results. I want to change light green message bubbles to some other color (like a darker green), changing nothing else. If this is possible, how do I do it? (iOS 26.3.1(a), in case it matters.)
