    Today our VDOT family is grieving. A dedicated public servant was killed and another was injured while working in a work zone, serving the people of the commonwealth. This is devastating for our agency, coworkers and colleagues. 1/4

    I-81 North traffic detours at exit 245 (Port Republic Road). Northbound entrance ramp is closed at exit 247 (Market Street). Expect major delays in the Harrisonburg area, including Route 11 (Main Street).

    All northbound lanes of I-81 are closed near mile marker 249 just north of Harrisonburg due to police activity. Avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

    All westbound lanes of I-64 in New Kent County are closed at mile marker 218 near Good Hope Road due to a vehicle crash. There are 1.5 miles of delays. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
