Make no mistake, this is a Govt taking power&decision making away from people And these shambolic amendments to the #PlanningBill, tabled last minute, build on months of lies from @RachelReevesMP pathetically scapegoating nature for a struggling economy

Every time you hear the word 'deregulation', think 'more poo in my local river'. Because, in practice, that is the kind of thing it will mean

I'm afraid, Prime Minister, that giving the go ahead to a 3rd runway at Heathrow, going "all out for fracking", allowing new open-cast coal, scrapping zero-carbon homes and solar subsidies, banning on-shore wind, and failing to support tidal power, is not doing "what we can".

We must all do what we can to protect and improve the environment we inherited from those who went before us. It is our responsibility to pass on that inheritance to the next generation.

I'm guessing BBC won't name them, so: "Exxon knew of climate change in 1981, email says – but it funded deniers for 27 more years" #ClimateChangeTheFacts

In May, June and July, the Government made promises to the British people, and to Parliament that they would "not lower environmental protections or standards". They lied. Just a few weeks later, they are planning to do just that...

The @Conservatives have changed PM multiple times without calling a General Election on the basis that in the UK we "elect the party, not the individual". Ok, fair enough. Sort of. But, voters elected the party on the basis of their 2019 Manifesto which promised "the most

A very welcome step by @OfficeforEP to launch investigation into @DefraGovUK's authorisation of #neonics during previous Govt Even better is the very clear @UKLabour manifesto promise (restated by a spokesperson today) to ban them, once and for all!

To put this in perspective... This is the FIRST time in over 30 yrs that there has been a REVERSAL in environmental legislation Oh, and it breaks every single promise that @michaelgove made post #Brexit Why should we trust any future environmental promise @Conservatives make?

The #NutrientNeutrality amendment has been published. With these harmless-looking words, Government wants to disapply the #HabitatsRegulations to allow pollution without mitigation in England's most sensitive nature sites. Parliamentarians concerned about rivers, plz vote "no".

Micheal, this is utter nonsense, and I think you know that If you want to build new homes, then do something about the >900k homes that have planning permission but are not being built by housebuilders Please don't attack environmental protections as a convenient distraction
