I'm watching the LA Fires round table. Trump is calling for LA to allow people to start demo and clean up TONIGHT Mayor Bass claims we have to study the toxic waste. No we don't. The waste is toxic and people will clean it up tonight if you let them.

Young progressives hopped on the zoom and claimed building housing on an industrial site in Downtown Los Angeles is equivalent to putting Japanese in internment camps.

I'm in a public comment hearing for an absolutely incredible project that will be a HUUUUGE win for Down Town Los Angeles. We're 50 min in and the developer just started presenting. Every 30 seconds we pause for tech issues on zoom ๐Ÿคฃ Maybe this isn't the best way to govern ๐Ÿคฃ

I just heard a city near me is trying out 2 hour permits. Not 2 years. Not 2 months. Not 2 days. JUST TWO HOURS. Book a meeting, all teams show up, corrections or permit in 2 hours.

Ever wonder why housing is so expensive? LA City is charging me $3,660.90 in fees for a SINGLE street tree. Not to install it, just in approval fees.

We have walkable urban areas. But we use them as homeless shelters and mental hospitals from 12-5am instead.

I wonder why no one wants to open business on the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica?

Be me: Build homes in LA. Have them sit vacant for 5 months while you wrestle different LA departments to figure out why they arent releasing certificate of occupancy clearances. Find out your sidewalk inspector retired/quit before giving you final in the computer system. Get

All anyone wants is a nice meal downtown in the shade on a pleasant day. Urban trees make a huge difference.

No permit required if you make your home the same tinder box it was when built in 1950 Let's dissolve the coastal commission and start over.

Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the Palisades and other fires burning across the LA region. The Coastal Commission does NOT require permits to rebuild homes destroyed by disasters. Please see Coastal Act page 136 for the exact details: coastal.ca.gov/coastact.pdf
    Readers added context
According to the document linked to in the original post, replacement structure "shall conform to applicable zoning." Because older homes are often non-complaint under zoning, this the original message is incorrect. x.com/about_dave/staโ€ฆ

The man with his own private security and private fire department says we don't need extra security in LA. This is what less fortunate people deal with in LA: Drive by your property and see the gate is cut open. Pull a U-Turn to lock it back up and see a drugged up homeless man

This is what's wrong with project specific community input. Just let people build homes and get out of the way.
