My cousin’s Super Bowl ad used our uncle’s faces- and my Mother’s. She would be appalled by his deadly health care views. Respect for science, vaccines, & health care equity were in her DNA. She strongly supported my health care work at @ONECampaign & @RED which he opposes.

Chris Wallace just said he’s been covering conventions since 1964. He said Trump’s entrance tonight was the most moving thing he’s seen in his career. Did he cover the 1964 Democratic convention when Robert Kennedy walked on after his brother was murdered? @CNN

#Kennedy family votes for Biden! For me, his strong suppprt of @PEPFAR (when the idea was not popular) is very important. Similarly, he supported @GlobalFund when it was untested. People are ALIVE because of these health care triumphs. Critical for America’s moral leadership.

Never got to meet my uncle Joe. He was killed in action piloting an American navy bomber headed to Nazi Germany 1944. My Mom (his sister) said her family never recovered. Thinking about him and all the families who never recovered. Alas.

Most of the “smart money” laughed at the #Peacecorps. They also said women should not become volunteers because, “you know”. Dad and the volunteers made it a giant success. So much understanding and wisdom arose from folks working together.

On this day in 1963, Sargent Shriver was on the cover of Time in his capacity as first Director of the Peace Corps. We're grateful that Peace Corps volunteers continue "to promote world peace and friendship" by working on important local projects in communities around the world.

Remembering my Dad today. He never spoke about his #Naval service in World War 2. When #Alzheimer’s crept up on him, he suddenly started to tell awful stories. He’d kept those to himself for decades. Respect & gratitude to all those who suffer with their memories.
