My parents didn't give me a car when I was 16. But I can tell you that they'd simply sell it and tell me good luck with no car. "If you don't want it, I'm sure some other 16 year old will" is exactly what they'd say as they did it.

The worst engineer I've ever worked with easily wrote 500 lines/day. A lot of bugs he created were fixed by deleting thousands of lines of code and replacing it with a few dozen.

The trolley turns red and overturns Roe vs Wade and destroys relationships with our allies. And then it turns blue and Russia starts struggling, aggressive climate bills are passed, relationships with allies are restored, and manufacturing jobs return.

And Biden isn't perfect, but he's done a very good job. He's way above average for a recent POTUS. He's generally respectful of everyone, is capable of compromising and getting things done, and has strengthened our standing in the world.

He's not wrong. That chart is from an article that says basically labor costs for hourly workers are way up and people are eating out more. The net result is higher % of disposable income is going toward food.

Yes, capitalism is where you occasionally go through a mild recession in your air conditioned house getting fat on McDonalds which is different from communism where every day is bread lines as long as there's not another famine.

I think it was clearly within his legal rights as self defense. What's left to say though is people going to areas of civil unrest to LARP as police officers is generally a bad thing that leads to bad outcomes.

Thanks, Dan. I don't understand why SFPD can't solve this problem with a half dozen cops and a few bait cars.

Oh, oh. I'm different than that. I like Biden. He's doing a great job. It's hard to be liked in the current negative social media environment. But he should be liked, because he's been a very reasonable and effective leader.

People buying $10m homes don't have a W2 job. I think that's what that person is missing.

A lot of them refinanced a house they bought 3+ years ago. And with 8.5% inflation, their real interest rate is -6%. They're getting paid every year to own the house. A lot of folks out there are paying $950/mo for an $800k house. They're very lucky.
