I am also doing a Dostoyevsky winter. I prefer garnett. Most western english authors influenced by dostoyevsky were influenced by the garnett translations—reading her version is more relevant if you’re interested in western canon. P&V is stilted, but they have their pros as well.
I love to bring candles, homemade fermented gingerbug, chocolates, flowers, a dessert, or something for the host to enjoy later by themselves after the event like bath salts etc
It is very hard for many, but that does not diminish what you carry! It is even harder when it is something you can never set down. I think you are doing a very good job carrying your hardships, and your resilience gives me strength to go on carrying my own.
