Blue Options are choices within Random Encounters and Events that can be selected only if your ship has the required equipment, crew, or system upgrades. Blue options often have more favorable outcomes than their counterparts.
Events with 'blue options' are sorted below by their requirements. Note that the blue option choices are sometimes named slightly differently in-game, and the events pages often contain the sic! examples of these notations.
Some blue options which make use of drones or weapons will consume the expandable resource, while in some cases it is only required to have a sufficient amount (usually 1 is enough) of the resource to use the blue option. There are some events with non-blue options that simply require a certain amount of expendable resources - they belong to Category: Events with Resources use and are not listed on this page (but the category includes relevant blue option events).
