Cultivating Change, One Meal at a Time

Practical food education for real life — supported by affordable access to fresh produce.

Second Spring Farms is a local nonprofit helping people eat better without blowing their grocery budget. We combine practical food education with access to fresh, affordable produce so families can build real, lasting habits at home.

What We Do

Our primary mission is food education.

We teach people:

  • How to turn basic ingredients into affordable, satisfying meals
  • How to plan meals that stretch budgets and reduce waste
  • How to cook with confidence, even with limited skills, tools, or energy
  • How to make healthier choices without perfection, guilt, or overwhelm

We meet people where they are. While the purchase of every produce kit helps to fund our mission, our goal isn’t to sell produce.
The goal is to help people feel confident feeding themselves and their families.

Why Fresh Harvest Produce Boxes Exist

We offer optional weekly produce boxes to support our education programs — not replace them.

Buying produce wholesale allows us to:

  • Provide fresh, good-quality ingredients below market price
  • Remove cost and access as barriers to learning
  • Make it easier for people to practice what they’re learning at home

The produce is a tool.
The education is the mission.

We don’t care where you buy your food. Grocery store, farmers market, discount bin, neighbor’s garden — if you’re learning how to use it, we’re doing our job.

Who is this for?

Second Spring Farms serves people who want to eat better without overspending — including families, seniors, busy households, and anyone priced out of fresh food or overwhelmed by how to use it.

Where we Serve?

Second Spring Farms is a newly formed nonprofit in our initial launch phase, and we will continue to expand our programs and service area.

We are currently serving McCalla and surrounding communities.

Why Second Spring Farms exists

Food costs keep rising while wages stay flat. Access to fresh ingredients matters, but so does knowing how to use them. Without both, healthier eating stays out of reach for too many households.

We exist to bridge that gap.

What makes Second Spring Farms different?

  • Education is the foundation of everything we do
  • Produce boxes support learning, not profit margins
  • We prioritize affordability, usefulness, and consistency
  • We operate as a nonprofit — every dollar supports programs and community impact

Second Spring Farms is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
All proceeds support food education, food access, and community-based programs.
