The Ethical policies of the four manufacturers who supply most of the polo’s, jackets and fleeces that we sell are shown below. Regatta have a Zero Tolerance policy to child labour - we will update this with more details as soon as we can. You will appreciate that (purely for reasons of space), we have not included this information here for all the manufacturers that we use, but if you would like details for any items not covered by the statements below, please ask us, or, if or if you feel that there is anything that we have missed, please email us at onlinestore@reaseheath.ac.uk Result Clothing Company Corporate Responsibility At RESULT® we see corporate responsibility as key in how we conduct our business and believe it makes good sense to run our business in a responsible way with regards: Minimum Age Labour RESULT® does not permit the employ of workers under the minimum age established by local law or below compulsory school-going age, whichever is greater. In no case shall RESULT® permit the employ of individuals under the age of 16. Working Conditions RESULT® requires that all authorised garments bearing its name be manufactured under conditions which adhere to strict standards on working hours and good working conditions, including factory temperature. RESULT® requires all suppliers to employ based on equal opportunity and non-racist policies. Developing healthy links with communities in which we operate within the UK and overseas by creating opportunity, skill development and support in emerging economies. Needle & Nickel Detection Junior and youth garments are submitted to stringent needle detection procedure by metal detector prior to packing at source. All garments are tested to ensure all trims are nickel-free. Environmental Practices RESULT® demands all suppliers pursue correct environmental practice, including the recycling of waste materials and the re-circulation of waste heat generated in the dyeing process. RESULT® insists on the use of dyed fabric free from harmful substance in all products. Recycling As innovations to fabric recycling evolve, RESULT® reserves the right to make running changes to any styles where recycling can enhance performance or lessen environmental impact. All garments using recycled materials within their make-up are marked in this brochure. Recycled bag and packaging is used, together with any other recycled materials on labelling & promotional literature, where possible. REACH RESULT® encourages all suppliers to have full compliance with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorizations and Restriction of Chemicals) and ensure no substances harmful to any human or the environment are used in products bearing the RESULT® brand. Legal Requirements We ensure that our business partners comply with all applicable legal standards and requirements of the country in which they are operating. We take steps to ensure that Environmental Standards All of our business partners must adhere to the laws of their nation regarding the protection and preservation of the environment. Where possible we will support our partners to improve to meet higher level international standards as required. Employment Practices All of our business partners must agree: To ensure that the rights of the workers are upheld and maintained in accordance to ILO, UN and national regulations. Not to utilize child labour as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), United Nations (UN) standards and/or national standards, whichever is the higher. Not to utilize forced labour, including prison or any other compulsory labour. Child Labour We define child labour as anyone under the age of 16 years, however the ILO define a child labourer as anyone less than 14 years of age. We require our suppliers to declare anyone under the age of 16 working directly or indirectly in the production of our products. We also require our partners to clearly state what education provision, working conditions and pay any under 16 year olds are receiving. Working Conditions We are committed to providing a safe and healthy place of work and to treating employees fairly and in compliance with the law. All of our partners must share in this commitment. We recognise that cultural differences exist and standards vary from country to country but as a minimum we expect our partners to adhere to the following: Health, safety and other workplace standards must meet all local laws and safety regulations. Employees must not be discriminated against because of personal characteristics or beliefs. Employees must be compensated fairly for all hours worked and at rates that meet local industry standards. Worker housing, where provided must meet the same standards for health and safety as the workplace. We actively seek out factories overseas with licensed and audited programmes in place to ensure waste and energy usage are managed responsibly. Substantial time and effort are invested to stay at the forefront of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) directives. Recycle More, Design Well, Use Less Managing Waste With Our Factories Products Nasty Chemicals We are always looking at ways to reduce the environmental impact of our design, development and production, striving to meet and even exceed regulatory and industry standards. All of our products for example, are PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) free. We actively source from reliable and reputable suppliers. Our published materials are printed on paper from sustainable sources and recycled materials are considered wherever practicable. We are PFOA (nasty chemical) free PFOA (Perfluorinated compound-flurochemical is a particularly nasty chemical used a lot in the outdoors industry to create water repellent finishes. Studies have shown that it doesn’t break down over time and there have been claims that it is carcinogenic. You can be confident when you buy a new Regatta product that it will be PFOA free. We established this Code of Conduct to set expectations for our associates, brand representatives, licensees, distributors and manufacturers. By adhering to this code of conduct, we make a statement about how we’re going to conduct business and how we expect those who do business with us to conduct themselves. We’re committed to continuing our proud tradition of maintaining fair and ethical business practices. Our organization will not use contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, raw material suppliers, full package suppliers, service providers or other organizations (collectively “contractors”) that use child labor. Our organization will only use contractors that comply with applicable child labor laws. Our organization will provide, and will strive to work only with contractors that provide, a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with local laws. Our organization shall maintain clear aisles and exits designated for emergency evacuation, fire extinguishers mounted in prominent places, and medical supplies on site to handle minor medical problems. Our organization will not knowingly conduct business with contractors that use forced labor or other compulsory labor in the manufacture and distribution of products. This includes labor required as a means of political coercion or as punishment for peacefully expressing political views.
