Letter S Find with Sara

It might sound like I am that crazy momma who comes to Parent Teacher conference and tries to tell you their child knows everything and you are the crazy one... ok, maybe not that dramatic, but OMG--- my child knows ALL the letters.  I'm serious-- ALL of them!  She just turned 2 and only goes to a mothers day out twice a week.  I am not a flashcard parent either!  I firmly believe 2 things.  Reading to your child makes a HUGE difference, and she is going to be smarter than me!

 

So, I thought we might have a little fun with one of my letter activities (since we are stuck at home anyway).  Since she cannot circle with a crayon, pencil, etc.. we used a bingo dotter to find the letter Ss.  She did soooo good!  Of course, she ended up using the dotter to bingo dot almost all the letters by the end. lol But it was fun seeing her find all the Ss's until she became overcome with the excitement of the bingo dotter.

Letter Sound Sorts

You know when you start a project and promise yourself you will get back to it.. well, that's what happened with this pack about 6 months ago..  I FINALLY finished it!!! haha

I'm sure you can imagine why I get so distracted...

This is my newest pack I've added to tpt.  It'd be great for morning work, literacy centers, homework, RTI and so much more!  There is a letter sort for each letter of the alphabet.  The only letter that is not beginning sound sort is Xx, and you sort by ending sound with it.

Fold it in half and cut down the dotted line.

Sort the pictures by what starts with the letter Mm.

Color the pictures

Then, glue them under the correct side.

 Don't forget to write your name! :)

My Alphabet Book

While planning for my return to school for my last few weeks, I created a simple little alphabet book to use with my kids to review all the letters. 

Here is a picture of my sample:

We colored the front and wrote our name.  Then, I told them we were going to review all the letters.  We would only do 5-6 letters a day during LAWS (language arts writing and spelling).

First, I showed them the letter video on youtube.

 

Then, they would think of something that starts with A.  After they finish drawing their picture and writing their word, I would call on every child to quickly tell me something that starts with that letter.

I did the same thing for each letter.



My kids really seem to be enjoying it! It's quick, easy, and they love coming up with a word that no one else has done!  You might also consider purchasing this for back to school time.. just a thought!
