Buying an e-bike changed my life. I ride it almost daily around DC, avoiding traffic and lowering my environmental footprint. The E-BIKE Act will make e-bikes more affordable for residents, allowing them to enjoy the same environmental and health benefits I have.

Today, I introduced the E-BIKE Act to reduce cost-barriers that prevent residents from purchasing an electric bike. This is an idea I heard from residents on our Ward 2 bike ride. Reductions in traffic congestion & pollution mean we all benefit from getting residents onto bikes.

I called on DDOT to immediately implement commonsense traffic calming measures on Connecticut Avenue, including removal of all rush-hour parking restrictions. Connecticut Ave should not be a six-lane highway through our Ward 3 community. Read my letter: mattfruminward3.com/ctave-3-6

My house's deed has a racial covenant barring Black and minority residents from purchasing. These unenforceable covenants remain across DC, a lasting example of segregation. Ward 3's history of exclusion lingers but I'm committed to creating a more inclusive, welcoming community.

Connecticut Avenue is an obviously flawed road with an unacceptable level of safety risk. Today marks the two-year anniversary of the Mayor announcing plans to redesign the corridor. I called on her to promptly complete and release revised design plans. mattfruminward3.com/letter-to-mayo…

For me, #BiketoWorkDay is everyday. I know the environmental and health benefits of cycling firsthand. That's why I'm supporting intentional investments in bike infrastructure to ensure all our neighbors can travel Ward 3 and the District safely, conveniently, and sustainably.

This horrific crash in a pedestrian heavy area near the Zoo is saddening, and I'm keeping the 7 injured individuals in my thoughts today. I remain committed to safety-focused infrastructure improvements on Connecticut Avenue that will keep all road users safe.

Reno City was a vibrant, predominately black community at the turn of the 20th century. Located near Tenleytown, the working class community thrived until neighborhood groups pushed the federal government to purchase and demolish Reno. Today, Fort Reno Park sits on the land 🧵

Connecticut Avenue should not be a six-lane highway running through our #Ward3 community. At Friday's @DDOTDC & #transportation #oversighthearing, I reiterated that the #ConnecticutAvenue Multimodal #Safety Improvement Project is important for us to achieve as a city.

I will vote to override the Mayor's veto of the Revised Criminal Code Act. The RCCA modernizes our criminal code, making it more transparent and equitable, and will promote public safety.

Today, @CMCharlesAllen and I are moving to override the Mayor’s veto of the Revised Criminal Code Act. The veto threatens to unravel years of work and thorough study that has culminated in a criminal code that is more just, equitable, & clear -- making us all safer.

I introduced yesterday 3 bills to address the DC's growing housing shortage and legacy of segregation. Our community must do its part construct ample and diverse housing options and create a welcoming Ward 3 for all.

This morning I swore in 13 ANC Commissioners from across Ward 3 social distancing style. As a former Commissioner myself, I know how hard these volunteers work to better their communities. Join me in thanking your Commissioner for their service to DC.
