Every union in America could build a student loan assistance fund like ours in @UAWRegion9A. Education is a human right, like healthcare & a just retirement. It's a core labor issue. Debt is the biggest boss there is. Let's fight it. /3

We haven't collected on defaulted student loans in over 5 years and the only thing that happened was people lived their lives safe from financial ruin. Any politician of any party who tells you this is necessary is completely unserious and will never fight for working people.

Student loans are the 2nd highest form of household debt in America. Harris never said a word about it.

Student loan borrowers have monthly payments turning back on in 3 days that are bigger bills than their mortgages.

The student debt system we have today was a reaction to campus activism of the 1960s. Same ghouls, same playbook.

Now that the news is sinking in, I want to take a minute to talk about all the people who have been cruelly left behind. Those are the folks with high debt loads for whom $10k or $20k won't make a material difference to their total debt or their monthly payments. (1

Just a reminder that today, May 1, was supposed to be the day student loan payments turned back on. Until the government decided hey we'll be fine without your $ for another 3 months. They could just as easily decide they never need it, because they don't. They never did.

No one paid their student loans for over 3 years and the sky didn't fall. Every single Democrat and labor union should be demanding full debt cancellation from the rooftops. We're not going back.

Ever notice how forgiving loans is suddenly a big problem when students get much-needed relief, but nobody blinks an eye when billionaires get their PPP loans forgiven? Or when corporations are handed billions in subsidies?

Around 40% of Americans with student debt didn't go to a 4 yr college. They are nurses aides, nail techs, truck drivers, auto mechanics, and folks who weren't able to finish school but still have the debt. We can't leave these folks behind.

The Biden administration spent four years slow-walking student debt relief and eventually turning everyone's payments back on. The least they could do is cancel some debt on the way out the door.

High debt borrowers (especially the lawyers) I am *BEGGING* you to stop reacting to the news only as it relates to your own debt. Yes, I am aware this was not enough. We will keep fighting. But PLEASE show some solidarity & celebrate that 20million ppl just got debt free!!

U of Delaware total in-state cost is $28,762/year. Telling grads walking out the door with $115,000+ student debt that you're canceling $10K is an insult. The boos will be so loud they'll hear them back in Washington (1) forbes.com/sites/zackfrie…

My union. My colleagues. My boundaries. Max out vacations. Turn off phones and email. Love your clients, but live for you, not the work. Judges and the law are entirely fake. You will not see justice in your lifetime, no one does. Make it better for the next wave. Eat lunch.
