New review paper out today in @NatureNeuro with @DrBreaky, @eli_j_muller, @DrBMunn, @rosalynjmoran and @Joana_Cabral__, based on a symposium that we hosted at @OHBM in 2019 on the importance of the neuromodulatory arousal system for shaping whole brain dynamics (1/n)

New paper out today in @TrendsCognSci with @GabWainstein @NatashaL_Taylor @DrBMunn @eli_j_muller. Strap yourselves in for a twitter thread about one of our favourite parts of the brain: the noradrenergic locus coeruleus and its impact on the rest of the brain... (1/16)

Everywhere you look in systems neuroscience, you see evidence for low-dimensional manifolds -- but how do these distributed patterns of neural activity relate to neurobiology?

New review paper on the role of the thalamus in shaping whole-brain dynamics and how we can test these ideas with functional neuroimaging. Collaborative effort with @kaihwang12 @lauradata and @Garrett_Neuro. Out now in @NatRevNeurosci. Hope you enjoy!

The PDF of our recent paper in @Brain1878 with @DrYohanJohn @NeuroYogacara @C__OCallaghan @jaaanaru @ishan_walpola @GabWainstein and @NatashaL_Taylor on making sense of the serotonergic system just dropped (but you'll have to wait til the end of this thread to get the PDF...)

Newest paper from the lab just dropped. Verrrrrry excited about this work, as it combines neuroanatomy, neural mass modelling, neuroimaging and conscious arousal. Absolute banger from @eli_j_muller

As a scientist, one of my absolute fav things to do is apply methods that we've developed to imaging datasets from the literature that we love to test our theories of how the brain is organised. Our newest paper in @CellReports led by @NatashaL_Taylor ticks all these boxes!

New work driven by two brilliant post-docs from my lab - @EliMuller6 and Brandon Munn - as part of an upcoming @NeuroImage_EiC special issue on gradients of brain organization. Spoiler: the Thalamus is super important for spatial & temporal gradients in the cerebral cortex.

The latest in a series of interviews I've been conducting for @_TheTransmitter: thetransmitter.org/connector-hub/…. I sat down with @misicbata and discussed his ideas on using network science to map the brain, including his beautiful work on Parkinson's disease with @alain_dagher. Enjoy!
