Updates

CoolDock v2.0.5

This release makes CoolDock easier to recover and troubleshoot, with more AI widgets and fewer problems when moving between Spaces and displays.

  • Export Diagnostics saves a redacted support report locally. Nothing is uploaded, and it leaves out tokens, URLs, paths, account details, and personal content.
  • A new Layout menu provides presets and fixed positions. Reset Layout can bring back a stuck or missing floating dock without removing its widgets or profiles.
  • Added usage widgets for Cursor Personal, Antigravity, GLM / Z.ai, Grok, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot, Gemini API, and Perplexity.
  • Claude and Codex usage states are clearer, with better connection, refresh, and cooldown feedback.
  • Improved recovery after Spaces, Mission Control, fullscreen, Sidecar, and display identity changes. This release also fixes widget drag-and-drop, folder ordering, and stale running indicators.

CoolDock v2.0.3

This update is mostly about making CoolDock behave properly around windows and multiple displays.

  • The new Screens pane supports One Display, selected Attached Displays, or a copy of CoolDock on every display. Physical displays are remembered across sleep, reconnects, and clamshell mode.
  • Fixed layout now has six screen positions. Existing layouts carry over.
  • Weather widgets can use a custom city without Location Services.
  • Reserve Dock Space now reacts when windows open, zoom, tile, or restore. Also After Dragging controls whether manually placed windows move out of the dock area.
  • Fixed repeated Claude Keychain prompts, corrected Codex usage windows, and reduced duplicate weather requests.

CoolDock v2.0.2

Our first follow-up to CoolDock 2 focuses on the issues people hit during migration and onboarding.

  • Reduced the repeated Keychain prompts seen when moving from CoolDock 1 to CoolDock 2. CoolDock still reads only the items you approve, and your dock data stays on your Mac.
  • Added encrypted local-file storage under Settings → Privacy for Macs where the login Keychain cannot be unlocked reliably. Keychain remains the recommended option.
  • Permissions are now explained before macOS asks for them, and floating mode has a small handle that makes the dock easier to move.

CoolDock v2.0.0

CoolDock 1.9.4 was the bridge to 2.0.0: the first Appit Studio release after we acquired CoolDock from its original developer, Solt Wagner.

The cutover moved the app to Appit Studio’s licensing and update system. Solt worked with our team through the handover, and the things that mattered to existing users did not change:

  • Existing licenses stay valid. There is nothing to repurchase.
  • CoolDock data remains on your Mac, with no telemetry or usage analytics.
  • Support and future updates now come from Appit Studio.
