Automate. Transact. Cure.
HOF Hacks is a 24-hour in-person hackathon hosted by Tech@NYU in collaboration with HOF Capital, a global venture capital firm investing in visionary entrepreneurs. Learn from live demos by HOF Capital’s portfolio startups and earn free credits to enhance your projects!
Dinner on Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturday will be provided.
You will pick from one of the following HOF tracks (Automation & AI, Fintech, or Health Tech) and work to create a hack that solves the proposed problem over the course of the weekend:
TRACK: Freedom from Repetitive Work [Automation & AI]
Build a scalable solution that frees individuals or organizations from repetitive, manual tasks through automation and/or AI. Whether for individuals, teams, or entire industries, your product should create significant efficiency gains with a clear path to widespread adoption.
TRACK: Freedom to Transact [Fintech]
Create a fintech product that empowers people to participate fully and freely in the economy — whether through transacting, saving, lending, or earning. Your solution should aim to reduce friction, increase trust, and scale across borders or demographics.
TRACK: Freedom from Genetic Disease [Health Tech]
Design a scalable health tech solution that improves a person's health. Focus on technologies that are personalized, proactive, and accessible — even beyond clinical settings.
Whether you're streamlining workflows through automation, revolutionizing financial transactions, or advancing healthcare solutions, the goal is clear: build scalable solutions with global impact.
Compete for category prizes, gain exposure to investors and founders, and seize the opportunity to develop a project that extends beyond the weekend of the hackathon.
This isn't just a hackathon — it's your launchpad to impact.
This event will take place IN PERSON from April 18 4pm to April 19 7pm at 1/2 Bond St, New York, NY.
HOF cannot provide any form of overnight accomodations.
Please check the "Resources" tab for our Guidebook and FAQ to see if we have answered potential questions you may have and for a list of places to hack after being let out of the venue. If you have more questions or are interested in judging, please email us at startupweek@techatnyu.org. Judges must be in-person on April 19th.
HOF Capital is a $3B AUM firm founded in 2016 with investments in generational defining companies such as SpaceX, Epic Games, Anthropic, xAI, Databricks, and more.
Requirements
You must opt in to one and only one track. You can opt into as many sponsor/category prizes as you wish (provided you follow any listed guidelines). There is a maximum of 4 people per team. Everyone will be automatically competing for the "Best Overall" prize.
Submit everything by Saturday, April 19th at 4PM ET. You are only allowed to submit one entry. If you are using existing code from prior to this hackathon, you must disclose that to the judges. Only the code you developed this weekend will be considered for judging purposes. No cross-posting is allowed. You must be present at the closing ceremony to claim your prize.
Your project should have some level of functionality and should attempt to solve the problem that is proposed by the track you have chosen.
Submit a link to your project as a working demo and/or a GitHub repository or zip file. Make sure to add "http://" or "https://" before your URL (otherwise we can’t see it!). Also, be prepared to record and upload a video showcasing your work.
