Maria Cyranowicz (b. 1974)—Polish poet, literary critic, literary events curator, teacher, and editor. In 1999 she received the prestigious Ludwik Fryde Award for Young Critics. Author of six books: neutralizacje (Biblioteka Frondy, 1997), i magii nacja (Zielona Sowa, 2001), piąty element to fiksja (Staromiejski Dom Kultury, 2004), psychodelicje (Staromiejski Dom Kultury, 2006), den.presja (Fundacja Mammal, 2009) and machinacje (Stowarzyszenie Wspólny Pokój, 2024). Co-editor of two anthologies: Gada !Zabić? Pa)n(tologia neolingwizmu (Staromiejski Dom Kultury, 2005, with Pawel Kozioł) and Solistki. Antologia poezji kobiet (1989-2009) (Staromiejski Dom Kultury, 2009, with Joanna Mueller and Justyna Radczyńska). Co-editor and contributor to art/literary magazines Meble and Wakat/Notoria. Her poems have also appeared in the following anthologies: Strefa wolna. Wiersze przeciwko nienawiści i homofobii (Outside the Box, 2019), Queer. Dezorientacje. Antologia Polskiej Literatury Queer. Małgorzata Myk (b. 1975)—Polish literary scholar and translator. She teaches at the University of Łódź in the Department of North American Literature and Culture. Author of the monograph Upping the Ante of the Real: Speculative Poetics of Leslie Scalapino (Peter Lang, 2019). The Kościuszko Foundation Fellow in 2017/18 (UCSD) and Fulbright Senior Award recipient in 2024/25 (University of Utah). Her translation of E. Tracy Grinnell’s poetry appeared in Odmiany Łapania Tchu: Pięć Amerykańskich Głosów (Variants of Catching Breath: Five American Voices), edited by Mark Tardi (Łódź: Dom Literatury 2022). Her translations of Maria Cyranowicz’s poetry into English appeared in Modern Poetry in Translation, periodicities: a journal of poetry and poetics, AzonaL: Poetry in Translation, and ANMLY. She has recently translated Lisa Robertson’s The Weather, titled Pogoda (Kraków: LOKATOR, 2024). Her translation of Kevin Davies’s selected poems, titled Wczesna Muzyka Komputerowa, is forthcoming from Disastra Publishing. Her new translations of Maria Cyranowicz's poems are forthcoming from Litmus Press in Fall 2024 in Viscera: Eight Voices from Poland (ed. Mark Tardi). She lives in Warsaw.

KATARZYNA SZAULIŃSKA was born in Kołobrzeg in 1987. Her debut collection Druga Osoba [Second Person] was winner of Biuro Literackie’s first-book award and published in 2020. She has published work in respected literary journals in Poland, such as Mały Format, Helikopter, Kontent, Fabularie, Wakat, and Kultura Liberalna. English translations of her work have appeared in Another Chicago Magazine, La Piccioletta Barca, and Jet Fuel Review. She is also the author of a comic book about depression entitled Czarne Fale/Murky Waves and the one-woman show Córcia [Baby girl], which was staged at the WARSaw Theatre. She lives in Warsaw, where she works as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist.


MARK TARDI is a writer, translator, and lecturer on faculty at the University of Łódź. He is the author of three books, most recently, The Circus of Trust (Dalkey Archive, 2017). Recent work and translations have appeared or are forthcoming in Denver Quarterly, Circumference, La Piccioletta Barca, Jet Fuel Review, Armstrong Literary, Berlin Quarterly, Notre Dame Review, and elsewhere. His translation of The Squatters’ Gift by Robert Rybicki was published by Dalkey Archive Press in 2021.

BRONKA (BRONISŁAWA) NOWICKA is a Polish theatre and TV director, screenwriter, poet, and interdisciplinary artist. She is a graduate of the National Film School in Łódź, Poland, and the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. Her literary debut, Nakarmić kamień (To Feed the Stone) was awarded the 2016 Nike Literary Award and the Złoty Środek Poezji (Golden Mean of Poetry) award. In 2017, she was a laureate of the New Voices from Europe project. Her second book, Kodeks Pomylonych (Codex of the Insane), was published in 2020, and To Feed the Stone will be published in a bilingual edition by Dalkey Archive Press in 2021.

KATARZYNA SZUSTER-TARDI is a translator. Forthcoming translations include the books To Feed the Stone by Bronka Nowicka (Dalkey Archive Press, 2021) and Polish Literature and Genocide by Arkadiusz Morawiec (Routledge, 2021). She earned her M.A. in English studies from the University of Łódź, Poland, and was a lecturer at Department of Foreign Languages, University of Nizwa in Oman. Recent translations have appeared in Denver Quarterly, LIT, Michigan Quarterly Review, Tripwire, Berlin Quarterly, and Seedings.

Justyna Bargielska was born in 1977, and is a social activist, poet and writer. She is the author of five books of poetry and two books of prose. Her most recent books are Małe lisy (prose) and Nudelman (poetry). She has twice received the prestigious Nagroda Literacka Gdynia. She lives in Warsaw.

Katarzyna Szuster teaches in the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Nizwa in Oman. She earned her MA in English philology from the University of Łódź, where she also completed postgraduate studies in editing and publishing. Her poems and translations have appeared in Arterie, Aufgabe, Biweekly, Dekadentzya, Moria, Words Without Borders, and in the anthology Free Over Blood (OFF_Press).

About: GRZEGORZ WRÓBLEWSKI was born in 1962 in Gdansk and grew up in Warsaw, Poland; he has lived in Copenhagen since 1985. He has published seven volumes of poetry and a collection of short prose pieces in Poland, three books of poetry, a book of poetic prose and an experimental novel (translations) in Denmark, and selected poems in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He has also published a selection of plays. His work has been translated into five languages. English translations of his poems have appeared in London Magazine, Poetry London, Magma Poetry, Parameter Magazine, Poetry Wales, The Delinquent, Chicago Review, 3rd bed, Eclectica, Mississippi Review, Absinthe, Common Knowledge, Practice: New Writing + Art, Jacket Magazine, and in various anthologies including Altered State: The New Polish Poetry, Carnivorous Boy Carnivorous Bird, and A Generation Defining Itself - In Our Own Words.
