Justin Chambers Has a Black Wife Named Keisha

by Paula Neal Mooney Again I was catching up with my TiVo'd shows whilst putting teeny-tiny microbraids in my hair and was caught by surprise when The View interviewed Grey's Anatomy hottie Justin Chambers, and they flashed a picture of his wife, Keisha, on the screen. Is she black? I asked myself, cause no one else was asking. Sure I knew all about Justin Chambers and his five kids, but I naturally assumed his wife would be a beautiful blonde named Becky or something, not a beautiful black woman named Keisha Chambers . Justin Chambers has a black wife . Wow. There, I said it. Or wrote it, actually. I wrote the thing that many folks are skirting around on the message boards and avoiding writing. They seem to be avoiding a mention of the interracial factor like the black plague. (Yes, I'm trying to work the words "Justin Chambers" and "black wife" into this post as many times as editorially possible.) "She's not what I expected," is t...

My husband gets on my nerves...

...because last night when I asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he gave his standard, “Oh, you don’t have to get me anything.” A seemingly altruistic response, but truly infuriating for folks like me who then have to guess at what he wants, because we’re gonna get him something. I, for one, could’ve added a gazillion items to our family’s gift idea list on Amazon, which I started last night. You’ll notice that there are no gifts selected by my hubby, who is not one to receive gifts well. But, I’m grateful that he likes to give, and that he’s just looking out for our debt situation like I keep harping on reducing all year long. He’s really a sweetie pie, so here’s hoping I find him something that he’ll love. So, for any family members or friends reading this blog, here’s our list. Please create one for your family too and send it on over to me! For Big Papa: Wish I knew. Maybe if he tells me, I’ll update this post later. For the Little Wifey: I just added this cool new Braun MX2050...

IlluStory Lets Kids Publish Their Own Books

I bought this IlluStory: Write and illustrate your own book! for my niece for her recent 5th birthday. "I can't figure out that gift you gave me," she said so sweetly. Since she has a prolific older sister who loves to write and paint, I believe she's figured it out by now. If I would've known they had a IlluStory Christian Edition: Publish your own inspirational book! , I seriously would've bought her that one. An MP3 Player for Kids: Fisher Price's FP3 Player

I gotta say that this MP3 player for kids from Fisher Price -- called the FP3 player -- how cute! -- is a great idea. Though my money's on their Kid-Tough Digital Camera (my 5-year-old is showing an affinity for snapping pics), I can see why Fisher Price's little FP3, MP3 player for kids is selling out too, with as of this writing (at 1:02 a.m., no less!) eight of the FP3 players going on Amazon for around 83 bucks each. Just imagine how many old ladies desperate parents will be knocking over closer to Christmas to get their hands on an FP3 or two. Ah...tis the season. Forgive me. It's late. Pam Anderson and Kid Rock to Divorce

Can't say I'm all that surprised that Pam Anderson and Kid Rock are getting divorced after only four months together. Pam Anderson and Kid Rock got engaged in 2002, but broke up the following year. Pam Anderson, of course, was married to Tommy Lee prior to her marriage with Kid Rock. Now it looks like both doomed marriages will end in divorce. Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee had two children together. Pam Anderson and Kid Rock have no children together. On Pam's web site ( PamelaAnderson .com), Pam says about her impending divorce: "Divorce. Yes, it's true. Unfortunately impossible." Of course, those crazy fast reporters over at TMZ have all the Pam Anderson and Kid Rock divorce details, even down to video of the divorce papers. How do they get this stuff? Bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. Chris Rock to Divorce His Wife Malaak

It's sad to blog this news: Chris Rock , the beloved, scruffy and skinny comedian who voices the absolutely hilarious Everybody Hates Chris sitcom has filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, Malaak Compton-Rock . (I always loved the way that her first name rhymed with Rock. It seemed kismet...sigh...) Ironically, Chris Rock's new movie, which is set to be released in March, is called I Think I Love My Wife . TMZ.com reports that Rock has retained a "a high-powered divorce attorney to represent him." Uh oh. I hope this doesn't get ugly. But then again, Chris' comedy routines about marriage always were pretty bitter, heh? Plus, Chris and Malaak did separate once before, didn't they? I also remember when Oprah asked Chris what the most romantic gesture he ever made toward his wife was he answered: "I cleared her credit." Ouch. Okay, painful, but I guess true and very unromantic. That's the show that featured Malaak in her role as Founder...

REESE WITHERSPOON TO DIVORCE RYAN PHILLIPPE

So sad. I really thought REESE WITHERSPOON and RYAN PHILLIPPE were going to make it. I thought REESE WITHERSPOON and RYAN PHILLIPPE were an anti-Hollywood kind of couple. Now today comes news from TMZ that they are splitting up after seven years of marriage. She's so real and down to earth. He's so…so…I don't know…not as famous as Reese? I wonder if that had anything to do with the impending divorce. Ryan gave Joaquin Phoenix such guff when Joaquin mounted the stage to accept his Golden Globe for the EXCELLENT movie Walk the Line, which Reese also won a Golden Globe for . Ryan Phillippe yelled out to Joaquin (maybe he was just drunk and happy) in such a way that it made me surmise that Ryan wanted attention. Maybe to steal back some of the spotlight that both he and Reese shared when I first saw them together in Cruel Intentions. "Ryan Phillipe better hold on to Reese as much as he can ..." Pink is the New Blog eerily predicted earlier this year, posting, ...

Kid-Tough Digital Camera

Woo! 70 Bones! (Update: Looks like you can double that price since I last blogged about this kid-tough digital camera ) Still...I must have one of these new digital cameras for kids from the geniuses at Fisher Price , who obviously know enough about rowdy and Ansel Adams would-be kids to develop a kid-tough digital camera strong enough to withstand bumps and bruises. Fisher Price obviously also knows enough about us material-hungry parents raising pride-producing pint-sized Picassos (strike that, he was loony), miniature Georgia O'Keefes (yes, I know they were both painters -- you got the Ansel Adams reference above, right?) to know that we'll drop 70 bucks on a new toy instead of our mounting credit card debt to make for happy and prodigious munchkins.
