Welcome back, Throwback Thursday! from TE!

Today, over at Taylored Expressions, we are welcoming back Throwback Thursday! The big bonus of these are that they are also Second Chance releases, with PERKS, as I like to say. The opportunity to order the items that were exclusives –AND with added coordinating items! For instance–the Hedgehugs has a cutting plate now! Whoooohoooo! Such fun!

Here are a couple cards to get you thinking…

First up, I love the To the Point sentiment set and now there are dies! This sentiment pairs swimmingly with the Dino mite T-Rex! 😂

Image

I thought it would be fun to take the Star Stacklets out of a spin–so I die cut the blended ink panel (Mango, Spearmint & Poblano) and then popped that on the card base that I had also die cut the starts through. As I always do, I forgot to take a photo of the inside of this card, but it looks festive in there with the stars and the one window that goes all the way through. 🙂 Just something a bit different–jazzin’ it up😎! I thought this would be fun for kids or anyone. I’d sure love to receive it! 🙂

And I made this cutie card with the Hedgehugs! The little notes are from the Love Notes set. I love the Love Notes. 🙂

The colors I used for this card are: Toffee, Green Tea/Brussels Sprout, Strawberry/Bubblegum, Oatmilk and Cinnamon. The sentiment is from the To The Point + Coordinating Dies.

I also used the Wonky Grid Background and the Wavy Stitch Stacklets. Too cute! 🙂

Miss you–Big Time!

Hello! Happy almost weekend! Popping in with a quick card using some super cute  Paper Smooches ♥️!! 🙂

This card is made with the following from Paper Smooches: Cuteasauras, Sunnyville, and Huge Hugs sentiment. I blended on a background with some Distress Oxide Inks, added some quick stitching and voila!

Image

I had already colored these PS cuties during one of the Daily Marker 30 Days with Copic Markers, so they just popped right on there pretty quick! 🙂

Image

And in case you haven’t heard the latest, check out THIS post on the Paper Smooches Blog and be sure to check out the sale! I will have to have a fun post with tons of Paper Smooches cards coming up sometime soon. Goodness knows I have a couple hundred PS cards at least. 🙂

Wishing you a wonderful Friday ahead! Which is pretty good because until almost Noon today, I thought it was Wednesday. 🙂 Ha! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! ❤

Take care–Jill 🙂

A lil’ cuteness…

Happy Wednesday! I thought I’d pop in super quick and share a few recent Paper Smooches cards I made. I am ALWAYS excited about new products, but I love using my older products as well. After all, I have them for a reason!  🙂

First up, are these cuties I recently made with my son. Normally, when we make cards together, I personally never get anything made. That’s because I’m always helping him set up the MISTI or get this supply or that, etc. But this session, I did get these cuties made! I was amazed. Nothing fancy, but worth sharing because I loved making them with him. ❤

These cards are all made with Paper Smooches Cuteasaurus set! ❤ I colored the first card with Prismacolor colored pencils, and the one below with Copic Markers. That was super tricky, because I stamped these on basic white cardstock. Well, I am blender and bleeder when it comes to Copics, so I was surprised that these did not turn out completely awful! 🙂 (I normally use Copic blending card.)Image

For this card, because the Dinosaur needs to face the other way too, you need the mirror image. For this, you can use Paper Smooches’ Mirror Blocks. I was a little distracted, so I didn’t get a super clean image when I stamped it in reverse. No biggie though, because you can go back and fill in with a fine tip black pen! Yay! 🙂Image

This sentiment is from the July set Body Language. 🙂 Perfect with the googley eyes, of course. 🙂

Here is a photo that includes the ones my son made. He does all his own stamping, and that includes trying to get ALL THE STAMPS on one card! Haaaaa! ❤ It is seriously the cutest thing to this 100% biased Mom. He then uses my Copics & Zig Clean Color markers. Because why would he use any of his dozen coloring implements? LOL!!

Image

I love that he made the dinosaurs and drew in his own heart! 🙂 He also thought the little Kidneys were potatoes, so he ran with that. I was cracking up!! They can definitely be potatoes, right? ❤

He spent a lot of time coloring these and then gave it to Dad. (I hope i get the Dinos….shhhh! 🙂 ) I adore how they turned out.

For this next card, I used Paper Smooches Falling for You set, and coordinating Falling for You Dies. I also used the Cardbooking dies for the speech bubble fun!

Image

I made this background a long while back, and it was sitting on my desk. But I’m fairly certain I used Orange and Yellow Distress Inks and blended those on. 🙂 I colored the bat with Copics.

Thanks for stopping in! I’ll see you tomorrow for Paper Smooches Pep Rally week–sneak peeks for the new release!! eeeeeeee! 🙂

Lean On Me

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #309.photo  Image

hawkins_jill_lean_00_wm hawkins_jill_lean_wm

This card ended up pretty simple in the end and nothing like I sat down to do. I always think that’s funny! 🙂

I die cut both the die cuts I used, and I think the result was good! 🙂 My stitching went a little wrong, but I just added more to make it work. Ha!

MFT Challenges, Another Twofer

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #308 and Color Challenge #56! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog <<<<<<.photo ImageOnce again, I’m able to combine the two!

hawkins_jill_dinomiteThis little dino from You’re Rawr-some, is a little cutie! I especially love the T-Rex and his sentiment. I can’t wait to use him next! 🙂 I used Zig Clean Color pens to watercolor her, and Distress ink for the background I masked off.hawkins_jill_dinomite_00I wanted to use this color combo, but was thinking Holiday card. Aren’t we all?! <3! But then, I took a right turn and made a chicky dino card instead. There is some sparkle (that never photographs) in the tree/plant/hearts, that in person, adds just the right touch.  I  had to cut off the grass I was originally using for the sentiment. It was too *all up in the dino’s grill*. LOL 🙂

Awesome

Big fan of the Awesome. 🙂

hawkins_jill_awesome_wmKept this pretty simple by just blocking some card stock and die cutting it. You could also probably use a marker to color different shades. I like the crispness of this style though. 🙂 hawkins_jill_awesome_00_wmPaper Smooches supplies: Awesome die

I’m playing along with the April Paper Smooches Challenge! Black and White with a POP of color! 🙂 Dig this challenge!  I had a couple more ideas, so let’s hope I find time before month’s end. It’s already Mid-April?!
