Taylored Expressions has the March Cardmaking Kit releasing today! How is it the end of March? January went at a snail’s pace and now it’s the last week in March? Wow! Well–luckily Taylored Expressions knows what today is-the last Tuesday in March!!
This is the new Nature’s Canvas Cardmaking Kit and it is lovely for sure! While I do enjoy winter, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ready for things to look green again here. 🙂

This kit comes with these lovely touches of Nature and it’s up to you if you want to use the stencils to color in the flowers or if you want to use your favorite media to color them in.
For this first card, I used one of the Foil it – Gallery Mats and foiled this frame to feature the flower from the kit. The dies for the flowers (Nature’s Canvas Dies) are sold outside the kit, so be sure to order those if you are interested. I like this is an option, because not everyone wants or needs the dies and it helps keep the kit at a lower price, giving you the option for the add-on.

For stamping on both my cards, I first stamped these with Sea Salt ink. I left the stamps in my MISTI and went ahead, filling in the flowers with the layering stencils. Then, when I was done filling them in, I put the cardstock back in my MISTI and used various colors to add ink on the stamps to re-stamp the images. This allowed me to use the appropriate ink color for the different parts of the stamp and stamp the lines exactly where they should be. Just don’t look too close, because I wasn’t super finicky to not cross inks, but I enjoy how they both turned out in the end. 😊
The background is created by masking off and using the Pretty Petals stencil with Dijon ink.
My second card, I kept it very clean–which of course, I tend to favor–and it turned out lovely using the previously released Fluttering Friends 3D Embossing Folder as a background.

I die cut the flowers out and backed everything with a dark cardstock, which ultimately gives the featured items more pop. It’s hard to tell without a side by side of one with and one without, but you can see the shadow the dark cardstock creates maybe? I just think it helps the image stand off the card base a little bit more, in a subtle fashion.

I added the sentiment and some twine and this one was good to go! 🙂 The sentiments are in the kit, but if you would like the dies to cut them out, be sure to grab the Timeless Greetings Dies sold outside the kit.

Love the simplicity in the end. 😊
