What did you do before starting CTR Select (formerly Cantello Tayler Recruitment)?

After studying music at Royal Holloway, I worked for a South African Travel organisation called Lion World Travel for 3 years before joining Reed Employment. I was employed by Reed for 10 years – undertaking various roles across the South East.

When and why did you start Cantello Tayler Recruitment/CTR Select?

I started CTR in 2011 after leaving Reed to have my daughter in 2010. I made the decision to start my own business to allow myself the flexibility and work-life balance I was looking for, whilst still being able to fulfil the role that I loved within recruitment.

What made you choose to start a company in this industry?

I always enjoyed working within recruitment. It offered me the daily challenges and variety that I need to keep me on my toes! By starting my own company, I was able to set the values and service levels that I always believed in, and forged long-lasting relationships with my clients and candidates that I have always been proud of.

What was your mission at the start of your company?

To offer the highest possible level of service to my candidates and clients.

What services or products do you offer?

We offer temporary and permanent recruitment services across multiple sectors and roles. Our service is completely bespoke, to fit our client and candidate-specific needs. As an independent agency, we can offer our clients flexibility in both service and price.

What is unique about your company?

We are an owner-led independent agency with decades of combined experience within our team of recruiters. We work in partnership with our candidates and clients and strive to build long-lasting relationships with them.

What made you choose your company’s location?

Our office in Egham is perfectly placed to serve our clients in the South. We are located on the border of Surrey and Berkshire – not far from Hampshire and Buckinghamshire – so we can easily support and manage clients’ needs, as well as being a base for the National recruitment campaigns that we regularly coordinate for our clients.

What are your company’s goals?

To constantly strive to be the best recruiter in our marketplace.

How would you describe your company’s workplace culture?

CTR are a fun, sociable, supportive and hard-working team. We understand the importance of looking after ourselves and each other – promoting exercise and mindfulness activities within our working week.

What qualities do you look for in new employees?

Honest, loyal, and fun-loving, with excellent communication and organisational skills…alongside the ability to put up with us lot!

How would you describe your company’s success so far?

I have been blown away by what we have achieved at Cantello Tayler Recruitment and now CTR Select since I started the business in 2011. From just me, working from my dining room table, to now in our beautiful offices filled with some of the best recruitment talents I have ever met. We have worked on some very exciting, high-volume recruitment projects and have supported countless candidates in their journey to find their dream role.

As a company, we have also raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity and supported local initiatives, which I count within our success over the years.

I am unbelievably proud of what we have achieved and count myself incredibly lucky to have worked with every single person who has been a part of Cantello Tayler Recruitment and CTR Select.
