Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an option for a free trial period for selling with Amazon?
Amazon doesn’t offer a free trial for selling. However, if you sign up for an Individual selling plan, there are no upfront costs. If you sign up for a Professional selling plan (includes access to growth tools designed to help you scale), you pay the monthly selling fee once upfront, but you only pay additional fees once you have an active listing available for customers to purchase. This lets you explore Seller Central before committing to the Professional plan.
How can sellers keep track of what incentives they qualify for and have used?
Amazon sellers can check their credits and utilization details on the New Seller Incentives dashboard in Seller Central.
What is a referral fee?
A referral fee is a commission Amazon charges you on each product sold. It’s calculated as a percentage of the total sales price—which includes the item price, shipping, gift wrap, and other charges—or it can be a minimum amount. Referral fees vary by product category.
How are referral fees different from the brand referral bonus or associate commissions?
Referral fees are a cost sellers pay. The Brand Referral Bonus helps brand-registered sellers offset that cost by rewarding their own off-Amazon marketing, and Associates commissions are income earned by external partners who refer buyers to Amazon.
