With @OlofBSkoog on the frontlines in #Ukraine, witnessing firsthand the human impact of this terrible war. People told us that life is becoming unbearable w/ more drone attacks & expanded 'killing zone'. @WFP & partners provide vital relief, but what people want most is peace.

In Kharkiv, Donetsk and Odesa, I met with the local authorities delivering #Ukraine's nationally coordinated response for families on the frontlines. @WFP's support is only possible through their partnership and continued collaboration with communities.

Spent time this morning with our brilliant Kyiv team. After last night's brutal attacks, they still showed up with the same dedication to support frontline communities in need. My focus for this visit is to make sure our efforts to ensure their safety match their courage.

It’s been a very loud night in Kyiv with a large-scale Russian drone attack. Reports of at least 2 dead, 24 injured and lots of damage in multiple districts. Fires still visible through the cracked Arch of Freedom on my morning run.

Spoke with our team in South Sudan today. Impressed by their agility and determination to reach people displaced and cut off by fighting in #Akobo- by river when roads are cut, and by air when the river is unsafe. Airdrops save lives, but focus now is restoring markets and cash.

Just met with @Chikwe_I @WHO on how to strengthen our ongoing joint Ebola response in #DRC and the region. People shouldn't have to choose between health and hunger. This is a crisis within a crisis. The outbreak cannot be contained unless all basic needs are addressed.

The Executive Board room was purple today for #WomenInDiplomacy. Women’s impact on the decisions made in these rooms is felt every day. More rooms should look like this. The full participation of women is key to end the conflicts and inequalities that drive hunger.
