POV: it's 2003. Your homework is done. You just finished grinding a level in Maplestory. you are gleefully downloading 7 computer viruses on the shared family computer, as the pop-up ad said you'd win a prize. You take a sip of Costco glass bottle peach Snapple. It is sweet.

Another good trick for ANOMALOUSLY improved results - say "Okay, sure, but what are you trying to say here?". Press record. Next thing out of their mouth will GUARANTEED smoke what they wrote. You record for their sake: they will INVARIABLY forget what they said 1 second later.

For most prestige recruitment, resume is irrelevant. They contact you once they’ve seen your work or presence online, or your name comes up in conversation when discussing “who’s good?”. Resume sending is anti-signal that this pipeline isn’t grabbing you.

Error correction. Assume a 5% error rate on writing the numbers - at the scale of the postal service, city or state has a pretty good chance to bail you out on the screwup. Saves probably tens of millions of "return to sender" cases per year.

Cars. [morgan freeman voice] No reason Dufresne needed to escape in a GTO. It was the 60s, he could've gone in a Ford Falcon and no one would've cared. Would've saved him a pile of money, too. But He cared.

Don't EVER let it get the sense something's your work. If you tell it "Please review this poster's argument, and evaluate its correctness." You get WAY more useful results than "Can you check if my argument below's right?" AI pulls punches if it knows it's you. Don't let it.

I looked into this - ultralights seem to have better safety records than other small aircraft, it seems. There's probably a selection bias of "seeks out ultralights" and it's obviously less safe than being grounded, but if you're gonna fly, you can do a lot worse.

Besides all the "yes-men" arguments, he got a LOT older. If you e.g. watch old clips of him from debates from the 2016 primary, he used to be MUCH sharper and MUCH more coherent. Trump is the second oldest American president right now, and it reflects in his policy's coherence.

Because getting rich mostly just buys capacity. If you know with high specificity the kinds of things you'd do if given capacity and how you'd go about doing them, things usually turn out well.

Past a billion, there ironically aren’t many or any other things to spend the money on. Investing is just playing for high score; charity doesn’t fill a day and cashdumps have diminishing returns. Bacchanalia is ~the only way to “feel” wealth, and a yacht’s its centerpiece.
