I'd like to replace my aging/noisy AMD Zen1+ desktop
Not great timing, I know, but I'm thinking a Intel mini PC (e.g: N150, 11th Gen i5/i7) would work for my #OpenBSD testing & hacking, Any help towards this would be greatly appreciated.

Please boost my shameless posts for pizza, rent, & ThinkPads.
I could use some help, friends. I'd really appreciate sharing.
If you can help out with the occasional pizza, that would really mean a lot to me. Monthly gifts would take care of a lot of my financial stress/anxiety as well.

Progress: $522 / $2500 CAD (monthly goal)
If you aren't able help with PayPal, I have an Amazon .ca wishlist with some odds & ends, computer hardware: https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2E7N6O3GTI6JF?sort=custom

A guaranteed $2500 CAD a month would go a long way towards solving a lot of my problems.. sigh.
It would allow me to spend less time worrying about food, rent, bills, and more on open source.
I'm looking for monthly/yearly "no-strings" sponsors, if any companies (or individuals) would like to help to support me so that I can focus on open source full time. Feel free to direct message or Email me.

If any of my work on #OpenBSD, or my highlight posts here (or elsewhere) has been helpful in the past, a small recurring monthly donation would be extremely appreciated.

It's been a while since the last update!
The HDD live image of #OpenBSD/luna88k is now updated to the 8.0 release.
Great for LUNA-88K compatible emulators like nono and GXemul. Check the README for details.
Ori Bernstein (ori@) has sent a follow-up mail about his experimental #GEFS port to #OpenBSD tech@, including a updated diff with newfs_gefs(8) utility, and more error handling.
[...]
First off, thanks to Martijn, and everyone else who tried it out and sent patches.Everything is updated and rebased, and the diff has been regenerated with all of the lastest.
I've gone through a the error handling code. In theory the filesystem will handle errors mostly correctly. There are probably still places where theory diverges from reality. I've also forward ported most of the important bugfixes from 9front.

Some userspace tools have been done (you can now mkfs on openbsd!), but snapshot control hasn't.
Parents, please check your kids’ candy this #halloween. I just put this #OpenBSD 8.0 usb inside this candy bar. Be safe. 😔
You can now run the 64-bit Windows Steam client on #OpenBSD -current, a wine-steam downloader/launcher script has been provided as part of the new wine-extras port.
Be sure to read the pkg-readme.

If you're thinking about diving in, playing some games, @thfr shared some "Responsible OpenBSD Gaming Habits" over on the r/openbsd_gaming subredit.
"Among Us" game on #OpenBSD -current via the new Wine port, including online play.
Requires "legendary" launcher, also in ports.

Feeling cold, need warm pizzas, thinkpads or socks.

12 years on, #OpenBSD's port of #nginx still maintains its default chroot(2) patch.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rnagy/nginx_chroot_patch/master/nginx-1.30.0-chroot.patch
Reyk Floeter attemped to clean up nginx, wrote a large patch replacing all risky malloc calls w/ reallocarray(3), but upstream gave no indication they would accept, it was eventually discarded due to difficulty maintaining it.

After ~3 years in base, & the subsequent discovery of multiple "Heartbleed accelerating custom allocators", ngnix had outlived & outgrew its welcome.
#LibreSSL 4.4.0 "#eMudhra? We barely eNudrha!" released today.

* LibreSSL releases, officially, still have no taglines or codenames.
A new dbupdate(8) utility is being backported and released as a syspatch(8) update for #OpenBSD 7.9/8.0. This will make it easier for users to periodically update /etc/ssl/cert.pem and /usr/share/zoneinfo.
It's also available as an errata patch: https://www.openbsd.org/errata80.html#p005_dbupdate
Oh look, the cops leaked the full details of every single crime stoppers tip they got last year, including personal information on the tipster.
Edit: Not just last year, in the full 25 years they've been running this program!
Of course it's an external vendor. What could go wrong with outsourcing systems like this?
People are going to die because of this criminal negligence.
