@dianea mixerctl is not meant for regular user. sndioctl(1) is the main tool to manage your audiodevices and you can use it as non-root

@yojimbo @brynet so yes, I'm in-game... but won't play today; my bandwidth is finite sadly (as opposed to the world of gaming at our feet now)

@yojimbo @brynet I meant to upload both pics, but mastodon is letting me down today (or I'm letting it down)

@yojimbo @brynet maybe later. For now this is too involved... I thought it would be a quick download from Steam and test.

@yojimbo @brynet I don't know, I bought it on a Steam sale at some point... I guess that won't satisfy that?
And there is no link to obtaining that launcher somewhere...

@yojimbo @brynet Are you sure? not according to this: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Elite_Dangerous, but they may not always be right

Can you launch it without the Steam client running?

@yojimbo @brynet Ahhh, no sorry. This is a tricky one - always-online requirement, I only have it on Steam and it's not DRM-free there. Will have to wait for now esp since I can't get my system to be ready for the Steam client
