What is a Concept Note?

A concept note is an informal document that captures a few ideas for a potential project. They are typically created as an initial pitch of an idea by a project sponsor. As such, they may outline a problem and a proposed solution. Concept notes are also used to begin the process of capturing expectations as requirements, assumptions and constraints in preparation for an upcoming project charter.
