Save Your Best Posts as Reusable Templates

Save the captions you reuse as templates, share them with your team, and insert them into the composer in one click.

Your own templates

Save any caption as a template

Write a caption once, then save it as a template from the composer with a title, an emoji and a short note on when to use it. Next time, open the template picker in the composer, search by name and insert it. The caption, hashtags and call to action come back exactly as you saved them, ready to adapt.

Ready-made library

Start from templates written for your niche

Not sure where to start? The template library holds ready-made posts grouped by niche, such as fitness, real estate, business and lifestyle. Each one uses bracketed text like [PRODUCT] or [DATE] for the parts you replace, so you can see the structure and fill in your own details.

Share the templates your team needs

Each saved template is private or shared with everyone in your team, and you choose when you save it. Shared templates give new teammates a ready set of approved posts instead of guessing the brand voice. Every team has its own templates, so an agency's clients never see each other's.

Private or team-wide, chosen per template

Each team keeps its own templates, so client content stays separate

Available on every plan

1

Save a post as a template

Write a caption you will want to reuse, then save it as a template with a title, an emoji and a note on when to use it.
2

Choose who can use it

Keep the template to yourself or share it with everyone in your team.
3

Insert it into a post

In the composer, open the template picker, search by name and insert the template, then adapt it for this post and each channel.
4

Keep it current

Edit or delete a template whenever your offer or wording changes; posts you already published stay as they are.

Post templates: frequently asked questions

Questions about reusable post templates and the shared team library? Here's what people ask most.

What kinds of templates can I save?

Any caption you write more than once: product announcements, sales, holiday greetings, weekly recaps, testimonials, FAQ replies or event reminders. A template stores the post text with a title, an emoji and a note on when to use it.

How are templates organised?

Your own templates are listed by name and you find them with search. The built-in library is grouped by niche, such as fitness, real estate or business. Templates have no categories, channel tags or usage dates of their own.

Can a template be used on any channel?

Yes. A template is plain text, so you can insert it for any channel you post to. It goes into the channel you are editing; adapt the length and tone there for networks with tighter limits, such as X.

Is the template library shared across my team?

You decide per template. Each saved template is either private or shared with everyone in your team, on every plan. Each team has its own templates, so agencies keep client content apart by working in separate teams.

Do templates have fill-in-the-blank fields?

The built-in library uses bracketed text such as [PRODUCT] or [DATE] to show what to replace, and you replace it by hand. Your own templates are plain text, so write your own brackets if you want the same reminder.

Do I need a paid plan to use templates?

No. Templates work on every plan, including Free. Every new account starts with a 7-day trial that asks for a card; if you cancel, you keep the Free plan.

Can I edit a template after saving it?

Yes. Open a saved template to change its title, emoji, note, text or who can use it, or delete it. Edits apply next time you use it, not to posts you already published. There is no duplicate button; save a new template instead.

Can I see which templates I use most?

Not today. Templates do not record how often or when they were used, so keep the ones you rely on near the top by giving them clear names.

Does the template library expose a public REST API for external integrations?

Not for templates. The public REST API covers accounts, connections, posts, assets, and analytics; there are no template endpoints or webhooks.

Which plan tier unlocks team-shared templates across the workspace?

None. Sharing a template with your team works on every plan. The Teams plan, priced per user with a five-user minimum, is about seats and channels, not about templates.

Can I A/B test two template variants on the same post category type?

Not built in. Instantiate the template twice with different copy, schedule both, and compare engagement in analytics.

Can a template include AI-generated placeholders that fill at use time?

Not today. The built-in library uses bracketed text you replace by hand, and your own templates are plain text. You can run the draft through the AI assistant afterwards.

How do I bulk-import templates from a CSV or a previous tool's export?

Not available. Templates are created in the app; CSV import is not supported.

Does the template library track usage analytics and per-template ROI?

Not today. Templates do not track usage or the engagement of posts made from them. Compare the posts themselves in analytics instead.

Can different team roles access different templates inside the workspace?

Partly. Each template is private to the person who saved it or shared with the whole team. You cannot share a template with only some teammates or limit it to one brand profile.

How do I migrate templates from CoSchedule, Loomly, or Buffer into PostNext?

Not available. There is no template import from CoSchedule, Loomly, Buffer, or Hootsuite; recreate your most-used structures in the template editor.
