International HR Day working group

Visit the new website here: https://internationalhrday.org/

In 2019, the EAPM launched International HR Day on 20 May to recognise and celebrate the profession. It has grown each year since, become more global, and moved to a digital format during the pandemic. We encourage professional bodies, companies and individuals to join in this special day to showcase what we stand for as a profession.

The International HR Day working group was created in order to coordinate and promote the 20 May each year as International HR Day. On 20 May we will recognise the profession, the work that we do and our positive contribution for individuals and organisations, on a national and international scale.

#InternationalHRDay provides an opportunity to:

  • Recognise HR and people practices at an individual, company, national and international level
  • Publicise the significant contribution the HR and people profession is making right now
  • Showcase how we work across boundaries though EAPM to develop thinking and practice
Solveiga Grudiene

International HR Day working group lead

Now it’s time for all People Professions to stand for the better World.

Solveiga Grudiene was a member of the EAPM Board. She is a long term (since 2009) Board member of Lithuanian HR Association PVPA, Associate professor of partnership of Vilnius University, experienced Management and Educational Leadership consultant (actively working in private and public sectors for more than 25 years).

Solveiga truly believes that most of things people can create by co-creation. All the challenges can be embraced and solved in connection with others – people, countries, organisations. Joined energy, ideas and experiences always give synergy and possibility to find new creative solutions. This attitude is actively employed for the sake of EAPM:

  • Solveiga actively voted for the idea of Lithuanian HR community to start International Human Resources Day (IHRD). Since 1st time in the history on 20th of May, 2018, now – it is annual event, accepted by WFPMA.
  • She is a Member of EAPM International Relations Committee.
  • Together with Lithuanian HR hosted The 30th EAPM Congress ACCELERATING GROWTH IN A TURBULENT WORLD (Vilnius, October 2021).

These steps were done in EAPM before becoming a Board member. This mandate empowers to develop further ideas and initiatives for all EAPM community. Solveiga has a vision for the EAPM future: to build strong, united, and connected community of all in People Profession in Europe.
