Vale sponsors projects aimed at valuing the diversity of Brazilian culture, generating sociocultural value, contributing to audience development, training new cultural agents, and boosting the creative economy in Brazil. Sponsorships are carried out through the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives (Rouanet Law), the Audiovisual Law (Ancine), or with the company’s own funds.

All these initiatives aim to democratize access to culture, value cultural diversity, and generate lasting social impact.
Vale supports sports through the Federal Sports Incentive Law, investing in projects that strengthen education, leisure, and social development in the communities where it operates. The company sponsors sports initiatives that promote inclusion, well-being, and opportunities for sports participation in different regions of the country, contributing to education and leisure activities and strengthening relationships with communities.
Technical-institutional projects are initiatives that contribute to Vale’s strategy and operations through the sharing of knowledge related to the company’s business areas and engagement with strategic audiences at events such as congresses, lectures, fairs, seminars, and others. These projects aim to strengthen dialogue between Vale and universities, research centers, and other specialized organizations; generate and disseminate technical or scientific knowledge relevant to the mining, infrastructure, and sustainability sectors; support professional training and innovation in areas related to the company’s operations; and contribute to Vale’s strategy for engaging with strategic stakeholders, such as local communities, public and private institutions, and academia. In this context, Vale sponsors projects related to mining, sustainability, logistics, innovation, diversity, and inclusion, as well as other topics directly connected to its business.

Vale conducts public calls through the Federal Cultural Incentive Law, via the Vale Cultural Institute, and through the Sports Incentive Law, via the Vale Foundation. Among the nationwide calls, the Vale Cultural Institute Call stands out, with applications submitted between May and June.

In addition, the Vale Cultural Institute promotes regional calls through its four cultural venues: Casa da Cultura de Canaã dos Carajás, Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão, Memorial Minas Gerais Vale, and Museu Vale. These initiatives aim to support and reward artists and cultural agents, as well as to build the programming of these venues, ensuring diversity of proposals and the democratization of cultural funding.

These initiatives aim to strengthen the cultural ecosystem, boost the creative economy, and expand the impact and quality of the projects developed.
