Now I'm pondering the alternate reality where I didn't spill tea all over my beloved MacBook Air in 2019. I wonder how long I would've continued daily driving MacOS. The hardware would've been supported by Apple until 2021, but I wouldn't have been motivated to buy a new one at that point.
I guess I'm glad the events worked out the way they did.
I have a hard time relating too much to me-from-ten-years-ago that happily used Google Chrome, Google Drive, and typed all his notes in Microsoft Word. 😝

Holy moly, #GNU sed was immensely faster than #FreeBSD's #sed with the exact same command.
The BSD sed was taking minutes and not finishing at all, only writing about 64KiB of the file per second.
GNU sed finished the entire 34MiB file in a few seconds.
Weird.

This morning, I was laughing to myself reflecting on how the #Omarchy logo has become the corporate equivalent of an Iron Cross tattoo*, indicating someone you probably don't want to get involved with on any level. 😁
* My original thought was that the Omarchy logo was like a corporate "tramp stamp," but I didn't like the shaming tone of that association, and realized that fascist dog whistle imagery was actually a much better analogy in every way.

Not sure why, but #mpv on #FreeBSD is super stuttery now and doesn't want to play video.
Not sure what happened.

Update: Nah, rebooting didn't help. it's still twitchy, basically just going back and forth between the first two frames of the video while playing audio, and showing somewhat twitchy UI. Strange.
Update 2: Upgrading to FreeBSD 15.1-RELEASE-p3 (and doing a pkg upgrade) didn't help, either.
I don't know if they're helpful, but here are my mpv error messages:
