Yesterday, 12:40pm, #PGFD Ambulance 806 was transporting a patient to #AAMC and came across a multi vehicle collision w/ a vehicle on fire at Rt. 50EB/I-97. This graphic video shows the heroic actions of the PGFD crew and an @aacopd officer.
Approx 1:31pm Paramedic Ambulance 806 was en route to an emergency when it was involved in a MVC at Landover Rd & Technology Way in Largo & overturned. 2 PGFD members & the driver of civilian vehicle transported from the scene w/serious but not life threatening injuries.
One of our firefighters has been valiantly fighting Covid-19 for 3 months and today we couldn’t be more grateful to report he is going home. Sincere thanks to #PGFD and @LoudounFire crews and @LCFR_DCTRAINING Dpty Chief Randall Shank for bringing him home where he belongs.

When #PGFD crews returned today to scene of Friday’s 3-alarm fire. They saw a very upset young girl. She feared her kitten was gone forever. Battalion Chiefs Bird and Miller went to her apartment and found the kitten “Love.” She said they made her day when in fact she made ours.

Approx 8:10am #PGFD units were dispatched to the 10100 block of Baltimore Ave in College Park for a reported structure fire. On scene crews found a 3-story multi-family dwelling w/fire showing through roof. A second alarm has been sounded. @mcfrs w/mutual aide. PIO on scene.
WORKING 3–ALARM FIRE: Approx 8:30pm, #PGFD units were dispatched to 2100 blk of Alice Ave in Oxon Hill for a building fire w/report of people trapped. Upon arrival, crews found a 3-story garden-style apt bldg with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor. (More)
5:12am, Structure Fire, 14815 Pratt St., PGFD’s Fire/EMS Station 820 (Upper Marlboro) suffered damage from a fire involving fire apparatus. Smoke alarms alerted 8 firefighters in station. Fire Investigators & PIO on scene. No reported injuries.

Fire Apparatus Accident, 1055 pm, Good Luck Rd/Kenilworth Ave. While responding to a structure fire, PGFD’s Truck 812 from the College Park station overturned. All six firefighters onboard were transported to hospitals w/minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
